Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)'s communications director, Rick Tyler, joined Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon Friday on Breitbart News Daily.
They recapped last night's national debate, discussing how Fox News tried to paint Cruz as pro-amnesty, and also highlighted that Cruz is challenging Trump to a one-on-one final debate Saturday night in Iowa, before Monday's caucuses.
Fox News surprised many viewers-and angered many conservatives-by running a campaign-style video going after Cruz on immigration, suggesting that in 2013 both Cruz and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) equally supported amnesty for illegal aliens.

Nope. But I missed the segment where the crowd booed Cruz rather loudly.
Was this over the Wallace questioning?
Didn’t watch either, but I think it is hilarious that every debate ends up an endless “poor Ted Cruz” event. So disgusting. I remember the first debates they complained about Ted Cruz not getting as much time as others and then when the states came out he was in the upper half.....not another peep from the lovers. Amazing what a complainer Ted Cruz is. We have that in Obama and now Cruz will be complaining every moment. He is so repulsive.
“According to Tyler, Fox News took advantage of the fact that most voters are not familiar with how legislative battles work. Tyler pointed out that everyone in Washington, DC, at the time knew that Cruz was trying to insert âpoison pillâ amendments into the Gang of Eight legislation to kill the amnesty bill, such as inserting an amendment that would deny citizenship to the children of illegal aliens.”
The one thing wrong with that narrative is that is is wrong. The video Cruz made calling for legalization of illegals was not a part of the poison pill. His amendment had already failed.
Does anyone know how they intend to circumvent the agreement they’ve signed with RNC to only participate in RNC sanctioned debates,, or are they just blowing smoke?
Blindsided?
I hope they aren’t “whining”. I mean, are they “afraid of a girl” of something?
Cruz did not either sense the trap coming from Fox, as Trump, or he thought it was worth the risk. in either case he has been badly damaged. if he does not win Iowa he has serious problems and has allowed Rubio and Bush to rise. He was much better off tacking behind Trump until he could reach the SEC primary states. if he loses Iowa and he cannot win NH his prospects in SC and the SEC except Texas are dim.
In many ways, Cruz is a stupid man. When he was buddying up to Trump, I said here on FR, Trump would turn on him and bash Cruz. People said, "Oh no, Cruz and Trump are allied and friends and working for the same thing." I said, "no way, Trump will attack him."
That didn't last long.
But if you think Trump is going after Cruz, wait until you see how badly he bashes Sarah Palin, when he gets to that stage. He swill stick the knife in deep.
Palin and Cruz may be conservative, but they forget all the conservative lessons you can trust. They thought they could trust a liberal, and boy, they are both going to learn a lesson on that one. Cruz and Palin: numbskulls who are going to win political Darwin Awards.
IIRC the DNC refused to have fox moderate any of their debates. I wonder why.
They’ve never explained yet why the Master Debater keeps getting his clock cleaned by first, Trump, and now by a trio of Fox News hacks.
If he can’t make the sale in a debate against a girl lawyer turned newsreader, he’s got no business anywhere near the White House.
It’s over at CTH, but it’s down in the comments. Yes, Chris Wallace was asking the questions when Cruz was booed. It was in the same time frame when Cruz said ‘If you ask me one more mean question. . .’
Look, your guy had center stage in the debate. His chance to shine. No distracting presence of Trump. It was Cruz's time to show the nation what kind of leader he could be.
It was his "do or die" moment. If he cratered, then I don't know how that is Trump's fault. The man wasn't even there, for God's sake.
BTW, how do you like Lightweight Journalist Megyn Kelly now?
Sure, don’t sign the agreement in the first place.
A sure sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Who is my guy? I have never once endorse Ted Cruz. How many points does your IQ drop when you support Trump?
Who’s your guy, then?
The Media has become the third candidate, controlling our choice for our leaders instead of REPORTING what Presidential candidates say.
your #8
DT doesn’t seem to go after people who don’t hit him first, don’t just draft behind him letting him take the hits because they don’t want or have the courage to stand up firmly themselves, and similar reasons.
He’s for good hard work that is accomplishing a worthwhile outcome, not just actions or talk that amount to nothing.
Sarah seems to stand up firmly even when people have stabbed her in the back.
Maybe she'll issue a retraction at the next debate.
Trumpets never issue a retraction.
Fox ambushed the #2 and #3 candidates last night while leaving the rest unscathed. the bias was OBVIOUS.
No GOP candidate should participate in another debate sponsored by ANY media organization.
Debates should be sponsored by non-profits like VFW and League of Women Voters...media CHARGED to cover it.
RNC/DNC should vet mods and questions in advance.
If the media doesn't like it, tough. Don't cover it. There's plenty of media available for every candidate to get their message out without TV News.
It's time to damage THEM.
