Good example of why Libtards must be kept out of public office.

In a letter to the editor this Libtard shares his scary idea of a way for tyrannical Big Government to use gun registration and punitive taxes to bypass the 2nd amendment guarantee.

But the "Tax" ruse worked okay on Obamacare- didn't it?

Here’s an idea:

If anyone tries to infringe upon your second amendment rights, shoot them.

We can call it a poll tax.

Go ahead and try it, lets see how long you remain in office when you enact this ruse.

And this will be enforced...how? Oh, right, by men with guns threatening violence for non-compliance. That sounds dangerously close to exactly why many people _have_ guns: to say “no” to people threatening armed violence for non-compliance.

My preference would be to tax the media.

Some people despise having freedom, they feel better being ruled over. Just look at the popularity of home owner associations as an example, they pay dues to give up private property rights. This this olson moron does not like gun ownership, he is free to not own one, he is free to be defenseless.

Florida passed a state law which made it a crime for a local official to fail to repeal a local law attempting to supersede state authority over the second amendment.

If any local body tried this, the elected official commits a crime punishable by jail or prison.

How about we propose an alternative? We require proof that an individual possesses a firearm before allowing them to vote or run for elective office.

To be fair, we provide an option where those who espouse pacifism can pay a tax, instead of possessing a firearm. We might start it at $500/year, and gradually increase it, every year.

More silliness from the constitutionally illiterate left. It is well established law that you cannot place a tax on the exercise of constitutional rights. Taxing firearms (beyond the basic sales tax applied in most states) would be the constitutional equivalent of a poll tax.

What part of “shall not be infringed” does this clown not understand?

Got a better idea. Make murder, attempted murder, assault, batter, etc., illegal. Oh, wait...

Okay, make using a firearm in a crime an aggravating circumstance. Oh, wait...

The problem has never been weapons. Cain slew able with something he just found lying around. The problem is people - we are a sinful and fallen race - and crime will always be with us. The REAL problem with people is that we are not taking enough responsibility for defending ourselves and our property and making crime dangerous for criminals.

Isn’t it interesting that when they want to restrict something (tobacco, alchohol, gasoline, etc. - and now guns), Democrats and most Republicans put taxes on it. But when they raise taxes on other things, i.e, income, capital, or investments, they claim that there’s no negative economic effect...

If we can't outlaw guns or confiscate them, tax them.

Make it a law to register everyone's guns and then charge a tax yearly for each one of them.

Or we could tax morons, we could probably balance the budget and pay off the debt.

Lib morons would have a lot less money, probably the only tax hike I could agree with.

It would make more sense to tax the ammo. $1 per round.

So we can be slaves to government? No

How will this nut ensure 100% compliance? Can’t be done. IRS can’t even force everyone to file a tax return.

Dr Carson, can you give this guy a brain! Please.

I have actually changed my mind on guns. I am in favor of doing whatever action these loons suggest, so long as it also applies to voting.

In this case, yes, I’ll “make the deal” to tax guns, so long as it is also applied to Polls. If they want a “gun tax” then I get a “Poll tax.”

How about it Mr. Olson, you up for it?

It is becoming more and more obvious that there is a section of the American left that really does want a shooting war in this country.
