The head of an Iraq and Afghanistan veterans group says they will decline donations from the fundraising event Donald Trump plans to hold Thursday night as he sits out the Republican primary debate.
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America founder Paul Rieckhoff said on Twitter Wednesday that his group had not heard from the Trump campaign and did not know which organizations would be involved in the veterans event.
Rieckhoffâs criticism wasnât reserved only for Trump. He had a similar message for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz after a super PAC supporting the presidential candidate offered to donate $1.5 million to veterans if Trump accepts a one-on-one debate challenge.

Now we know this twerp doesn’t give a rat’s ass about veterans.....he’s USING them as a wedge issue!! Hillary good for vets!! OMG!!
Now that this leftist group has been exposed, hiding behind the “vets” cause, they probably will lose a lot of their regular donations, as well.
It’s one stupid progressive group that prides itself on ‘bipartisan’ support. They focus strongly on ‘women’s issues’ and pride themselves on their ‘diversity’. I’m not saying that they’re all bad, but they’re not exactly representative of most right-wing vets.
A LOT of vets are irritated with them for this. “What right do you have to turn down money for *us*?”
IMHO, they’re pissed because they weren’t offered any. It’s like somebody upset that they weren’t invited to the prom saying, “FINE! I didn’t want to go with you ANYWAY!”
It really is sickening, isn’t it??
I will take the words of New York Veterans over the spew of campaign bots.
Leader of New York Veterans Group Defends Donald Trump

Wow. If even the DUmmies can fight this out, why can’t Fox and certain commenters on this thread?!
Well said!
It never ceases to amaze me how many Cruz fans are self avowed libertarian conservatives and don’t appear to care if Cruz is owned by Goldman Sachs plus a number of 10 million plus donors who run the PAC’s. They can’t seem to allow themselves to believe that he is the GOP candidate now.
That is Cruz will lose.

Half the money goes to employees and expenses! $80,000 in Grants when raising over 6 million!
Exactly. One America News is showing the event live during the debate. I am watching it and will most likely help.
Sadly we have seen this for months now. A number of ladies on this site are very tired of it to the point one was going to leave for good and several avoided Cruz posts.
In other words: “Our liberal politics won’t allow us to accept money that will help the very people we claim to represent.”
Just like the fraud “Wounded Warriors” company that doesn’t accept donations from Christian or firearms related groups.
IAVA IRS 099 FORM
What exactly does this group do?
Propagandize for Leftist politicians while hiding behind a “Vets” label.

IO wonder if there are any IAVA members at all. Seems this group is just a fund raising scam for Leftist political activists with a “Vets” label slapped on it.
My father died this month in a wonderful Veterans home.
We used to receive veterans who had previously been living on the street! We are talking 70+ year olds. When daddy died we donated all of his clothes, everything in his room. Dad was ok financially, but some of the vets who would arrive with came with nothing and had no family!
Veterans home was very well managed...by a private contractor. I think that is what Trump is trying to tell people, there is a better way to take care of our vets.
I already contributed to https://www.donaldtrumpforvets.com/index.php
I have confidence the money will be properly spent.
Pretty convincing argument he has... not!
You’d think with the amount of interviews and statements he’s given and made yesterday and today on this topic that he’d have developed a better story.
If anything you’d think the media talking to him would have coached him into a better story.
He’s not even going to convince to Sanders voters to switch to Hillary.
