Real-estate mogul Donald Trump called the coming Fox News-hosted Republican debate a "total disaster" and shared a Twitter user's post that called Fox News host Megyn Kelly a "bimbo" during a raging series of tweets hours before he was set to boycott the Thursday-night debate.
"The 'debate' tonight will be a total disaster — low ratings with advertisers and advertising rates dropping like a rock. I hate to see this," the Republican presidential front-runner wrote.
The real-estate tycoon had told Fox host Bill O'Reilly on Wednesday night that he hoped Fox did "well," even though he said the network would "make much less" money without him on stage.
Trump also continued his assault on Kelly, with whom he has feuded for months.
One tweet, which Trump promoted on his account Thursday morning, attacked Kelly for a GQ Magazine photo shoot and labeled her a "bimbo."
"And this is the bimbo that's asking presidential questions?" the tweet said. The user attached two photos from the shoot with text that read, "Criticizes Trump for objectifying women ... Poses like this in GQ Magazine."
The candidate shared the post a day after he had said he wouldn't refer to Kelly as a "bimbo," a term used to insult women, because doing so would "not be politically correct."
Trump drew some backlash last year when he twice promoted tweets calling Kelly a "bimbo." One of the times Trump retweeted the insult was after Kelly, a moderator at an August debate, confronted him about past comments he had made about women's looks.

That's a totally unfair and incorrect illogical statement. Trump's wife is not a reporter, and never posed childish sophomoric questions in a live debate that centered around objectifying women. Megyn Kelly is a horrible excuse for a "reporter", and a hypocrite.

You are asking the wrong person. You may be right that he will go independent. He could def get almost all the Sanders voters plus some of the Trump voters who just want to stick it to DC insiders. But if FOX NEWS is supposedly “fair and balanced” and all, it would have no business provoking a run from him. I think Trump is brilliant to highlight all the hypocrisy; Ailes with the Open Borders Foundation, Murdoch messing with this; Kelly not really being conservative. This is a showdown between two egomaniacs and Murdoch thinks adding another one would be fun. It’s disgusting. The media should show up with cameras, a mic, and a notepad and listen to potentials and ask questions. And enough of these silly “debates”. Kelly organized a question for Trump from a Muslim lady sporting a Sanders T-shirt on Twitter. He is smart to avoid the whole shebang.

I agree. He appears to have ‘lost his marbles’. If he is so scared to Megyn, how does that translate into how he will conduct official executive business if he is POTUS? He seems to have gone over entirely to the dark side. It’s really a shame because with a better personality, he could be a great President.

Trump’s wife will be First Lady if he is elected. You don’t think people will consider these photos of her? Trump should not throw his stones when he lives in a glass house.
If you allow Trump to call any woman a bimbo, then you should never complain if your wife, daughter, or mother is called one, also. This vile and crude man will represent the US if President and I, for one, don’t want someone this coarse and disgusting to be the face of my country.
Regardless of your feelings for Malkin or Kelly, why do you want to crawl around in the mud with this man?
Me, too.. two weeks ago I was despairing over their divorce but I see DT’s true colors and want him nowhere near the WH.
