For the most part, I agree with you.

However, I’ve never been able to reconcile forced to stay in a truly abusive relationship with a requirement of God. Had an acquaintance whose father told her, “You’ve made your bed; now you’ve got to lie in it.” Her abusive husband took the cake. I won’t get into it, he could have been a Law & Order episode.

So, I see in the 1 Corinthians passage an actual biblical allowance of DISSOLUTION of marriage...no longer bound. I’ll have to answer to God someday, I suppose, if I’m wrong, because I’m also a minister and I’ve shared those thoughts in public.

May the Lord have mercy.

1Corinthians 7:11 precisely doesn’t force a woman to stay in an abusive relationship. It allows separation, just not divorce. Which agrees with you completely. God hates divorce, but does not require a woman to remain in an unsafe situation,
