Donald Trump is Setting Up Fox News to be the Scapegoat for an ‘Unfair’ Iowa Loss
Red State ^ | January 27th, 2016 | JD Rucker

Posted on 01/27/2016 6:35:46 PM PST by Isara

If anyone wonders why Donald Trump has been like Teflon throughout this election cycle, it's because he's a brilliant strategist when it comes to manipulating the media, his supporters, and even his detractors. Skipping the debate may turn out to be his coup de grâce against the competition.

Donald Trump knows that whether or not he attends the Fox News Iowa debate, he’s probably going to lose the state. He knows this because he’s proven to be a master at campaign strategy, albeit an unconventional one. Most of us expected his early missteps to be indicators that he would fade or implode. What we didn’t realize is that he wasn’t playing the standard campaign game. He brought a new level of campaigning to the table that he’s been crafting for over a decade and that he’s been mastering in business his whole life.

He stepped into the boxing ring against several experienced boxers and he unleashed some jujitsu on them. They never saw it coming. In a way, we may be witnessing the most amazing long game confidence trick in the history of man, something that may become a permanent part of the history books akin to Alexander The Great’s rise and fall… but I digress.

Those who would argue against this theory will say that the polls show him up. The reality that only Trump’s campaign fully knows is that they have a minuscule ground game compared to Cruz, a passionate (online) but lazy (in the real world) voter base that won’t be caucusing much Monday night, and an artificially inflated social media presence with “meatpuppets” trolling Facebook and the comments sections of certain websites (thankfully not here).

It may sound like a very reckless play, but think about it. Even better, try to think about it from Trump’s perspective. Would he rather lose Iowa and have to seem weak by making excuses or lose Iowa with a tangible reason that he can echo with his whining about everything being unfairly stacked against him? Remember, he has very little that he can gain from a debate containing substance and this debate will likely focus more on substantive issues than any of the previous debates. He’s good when the topics are fighting ISIS or sealing the border but he fails when they ask him tough question such as how to fix the nuclear triad.

If he wins Iowa without the debate, he’s in the strongest possible position to win the nomination. If he loses but has the Fox News asterisk to place next to his defeat, he’ll attempt to turn that into momentum for New Hampshire and beyond. This cannot be allowed to play out as he has planned. People must be made aware of what he’s going to do so they can see it unfold with discernment. Otherwise, they’ll risk hearing his Pied Piper call.

It’s not about the statement that FOX sent out .. This is what it’s all about:

Google “NOOR” (she is a Muslim on the internet). She called Trump a Nazi and is a radical.

She was invited by Google and okayed by the RNC. They also had a woman Mexican and a Feminist (ALL INTERNET PEOPLE) all ready to attack him.

This is the ambush Megyn Kelly had planned for Trump.

Evidently, somebody tipped off Trump and that’s why he hinted about not showing up.

When nothing happened, and FOX did not make any disclaimer about their plans, that’s when Trump knew he had caught them .. so he said he wasn’t going to attend.

What I want to know is .. who tipped off Trump about FOX’s plans ..??

JD Rucker doesn't know. He's hedging his bets.

If he wins Iowa without the debate, he's in the strongest possible position to win the nomination. If he loses but has the Fox News asterisk to place next to his defeat, he'll attempt to turn that into momentum for New Hampshire and beyond.

If..., If...

Is your dad changing his vote over this?

4 years ago Newt was trailing in the polls in SC but surged to a victory after he scolded the press during a live debate. Trump is taking it a step further by skipping the debate completely.

Now CNN is fair and balanced and unafraid. Fox is full of fear not balanced and not fair. Who is fooling who?

Fox News is the enemy?

Why did you sign up a few years ago? What sites were you active on before 2010?

You sound like a Soros troll.

Yes!! you hit the nail on the head...this below the belt play would have been a huge hijack....bigger than the first debate re the show of hands stunt.

Trump would have been on the receiving end of the most devious and dishonest plot to create blood in the water for the rest of the MSM to spew too close to the caucuses.

You won’t have to wait that long. With Trump off the stage Rubio will go after Cruz hard. Rubio surely sees Cruz poll slowly shrinking. I think he might sense a very small opening.

This latest stunt by The Donald is the final straw for me. I have been trying to keep an open mind about his candidacy. He is making to so very difficult to do so.

What on earth does he mean that Megyn Kelly has been unfair to him? She asked him a legitimate personal question in light of the fact the the Democrat nominee at the time looked like Hillary Clinton for sure, AND that Hillary was going to play the sexist, poor little female part with a ‘war on women’ narative.

Instead of answering it , he immediately began to pout and call Megyn names with vulgar terms. He sounded like a HS sophomore.

OK, I gave him a pass. I felt he needed to grow into the concept of running for the POTUS and the seriousness of the campaign. I really did think he would mellow out But, he has doubled down on insults, whining, and complaining about nearly everything. He brags about how smart he is; how stupid everyone else is, and HE IS BEGINNING TO SOUND LIKE THE DEMOCRATS!!!!!!!

Enough already. Grow up Donald. What good does it do for you to be grumpy, and insulting, and whining? You have been successful, you are a hard worker, I assume you are very smart, and you have all the talents needed to be a good executive in the role of President.

You need to convince us that you are worthy of our votes.

Thanks for letting me rant.

“...he fails when they ask him tough question such as how to fix the nuclear triad.”

Using jargon known to few does not make a question tough.

Funny thing is Hugh Hewitt, Mr Nuclear Triad, is now Mr Gush all over Trump.

Check out CNN tonight.

Now, they are likely happy their competitor network is stubbing its toe here...

I thought the Fox questions, which were later praised by Media Matters, in the first debate were about as bad as CNBC.

Cruz offered to do a 2-hour debate with Trump with 1.5 million going to Wounded Warriors with Hannity, Rush, or Levin moderating.

I think Trump could take him up on that with Hannity or Rush moderating and do fine.

The other candidates and RNC would meltdown, but it’d be worth doing.

PS....it has to be that Megyn Kelly or Kelly Megyn or what ever here name is (go Diamond Go Silk),,,it has to be that she has so many enemies within the Fox realm.

I no longer watch any Fox at all, but happened to see her tonight and she LOOKED TERRIBLE...puffy eyes, etc...She and Ailes must be having a really bad day.
