This is how negotiating is done. Similar to what Reagan walking away from the Soviets at Reykjavik. Although not in the same impact on the world, but a big impact on this election. You walk away and do another ‘deal’ that is better and beneficial to the country. This is leadership that most mere politicos lack. BTW, Reagan also was mocked by the press as I recall.

Cruz wouldn’t crash Donald’s event unannounced. That would take the focus off the veterans and put it on Cruz which wouldn’t be good for him. It would likely end his campaign in one fell swoop
