“”All I am saying is personally I heard something negative how about Wounded Warrior Project years ago and I believe it was along those same lines of most of the money not going to veterans or something along those lines.””
It did come out several years ago about their salaries and I stopped contributing to them at that time.

“”My wife and I volunteer and donate to the USO. They are a good organization””
Unless my memory isn’t accurate - after all these years, no surprise - there were lots of complaints after WWII and Korea about the USO..charging for donuts/coffee and other incidents.. Could have been isolated, who knows?
But bless you both for your volunteer work!!!!
I hate to tell you... but your memory is mistaken. It is the Red Cross who charged troops for donuts and coffee during WWII and Korea. Many veterans of the veterans from those wars who are still alive are still talking about it and still hold it against the Red Cross. I have heard about it many times. I am pretty sure there is some way that you could verify this.
I do believe you’re right...I did say - my memory could be inaccurate. It’s gotten a lot of use over the past nearly 80 years. Something didn’t feel right about it but nothing clicked.
You have a few years on me, but believe me we are all in the same boat as far as that goes. But because of our volunteer work we have heard the same story repeatedly about the Red Cross.
