I listened. The man was out of his car with his hands in the air and challenging them to shoot him because he wanted to go see the sheriff. The girl in the car says they shot him point blank 3 times, and that lying on the ground they emptied other rounds into his body.

Just so Freepers know. These are decent, God-fearing, freedom-loving Americans. The government is corrupt, outside of the law, and in general against private property rights at all levels. Someday you will all need men with strength such as these. Tread gently as you naysay. I doubt that anyone knows the facts yet, and it’s quite possible we never will.

I’m sure the LEO’s had video recording during the stop? And certainly it was working properly and of course they would NEVER delete the video. Right?

UPDATE: Man driving one of the two vehicles says Finicum was NOT on his knees and probably charged agents before being shot dead.

Consider that maybe this isn't an "either/or" issue as the media wants us to believe. The narrative is that, for liberals: FBI=good, Militia=bad; for conservatives, FBI=bad, Militia=bad. Each of the two accounts we have scene of the Finicum shooting play to one of these angles, but they are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

Both of these groups are made up of people, people who run the spectrum of beliefs, knowledge, experience, world view, politics, religions, etc.

Most if not all of the protestors may have had the best of intentions, but some of them may have been affected by the situation. Mindset, paranoia... these things can be contagious. Some of the protestors have made statements about being armed all the time and willing to die for their cause.

The FBI and other government, at a high level, may be entirely corrupt and willing to provoke a situation in which they can "justifiably" kill the protestors. But your average FBI agent probably just wants to do his job and go home to his family at night. He is being given orders to do certain things, and warned that these protestors are armed fanatics, anti-government terrorists, willing to kill government agents and willing to die, etc.

From the protestors point of view, Finicum may have been getting out of the vehicle and moving away from it to protect the others. He may have had his hands up, moving towards the agents, shouting with righteous indignation for the agents to shoot him instead of the others. And then the FBI "executed" him for no reason.

From the front-line FBI agent's point of view, an anti-government fanatic who has stated he is always armed and willing to die before going to jail jumps out of a truck full of other armed anti-government terrorists, and he starts moving towards them, shouting at them to shoot him. From their point of view, he's a crazy gun-nut and they make the decision to use lethal force.

The most likely explanation of this event is that BOTH sides crossed the line. I understand that he was passionate about his cause, but Finicum made choices and exhibited behaviors that he probably should not have considering the situation he was in. I do not believe that means he deserves to die, don't get me wrong. The FBI agents likely made a bad situation worse, and even if they were only following orders, cooler heads and a more reasonable approach probably could have changed the outcome here dramatically.

I think both sides are in the wrong in this whole Oregon standoff business. I support the protestors' message and their point of view but their methods and their actions did them more harm than good. I support law enforcement and generally think there are probably very few FBI agents who are just walking assassin automatons for the Obama administration. But their track record on dealing with these things is utterly atrocious.

Considering that, I would bet both sides were in the wrong with Finicum's death. I repeat, however, that I am *not* saying Finicum got what he deserved -- not by a long shot. But nor am I convinced that he was just executed while surrendering solely because some FBI "thugs" wanted to send some kind of message.

The Feds are too poor to afford video cameras, and they're just "borrowing" the Bundy video cameras because they've never seen such cool things.

They'll give them back in 50 years or so.

I'm reading Leon Uris' Armageddon, about the after-war confrontation between the Russians and the Allies over occupied Berlin.

The fibbies would fit right in with the Russian commissars & their NKVD strongarm bullyboys.

The people who should be charged are the ones who did the shooting, and their co-conspirators.

With ALL the time the Feds had setting up the ambush site, and with ALL the hullabaloo lately from blacks about body cams for cops, and ALL the advance warning and planning time in Oregon, the Feds should have NO trouble turning over video of the so-called “shoot-out” that supports their narrative. If they DO NOT (or CANNOT) produce the video, that constitutes PRIMA FACIE evidence of Federal culpability in murder. Q.E.D.
