Exactly. This is all a stunt. And a win-win for both Trump and Fox.
Fox should have immediately bumped the top contender on the undercard up to the main stage and welcomed Trump back only for a place at the "kiddie table".
I don’t understand the baby duck analogy, but it does not fit Trump IMO. As Trump has not addressed Cruz issues mentioned by you, we don’t know what he will say or do.
Agreed when a man that has never held office and only once ran for office on the another party ticket, who has routinely contributed to another party can be seen as a realistic choice, yes the system is broken.

It is true that Trump has always acted like the businessman that he was, operating in a state and city in which not contributing to democrats is an explicit death wish for one’s business. Also, completely aside from the point I was trying to make.
The media is the major player. The candidates are their pawns in most election cycles.
The voters are the psych experiment subjects.
This experiment has new variables, and they are not under the control of the media.
The more I read about this, as the story unfolds, the more I understand the method. He is refusing to talk to Roger Ailes about this, and will only talk to Rupert Murdock, Ailes boss. He is going to the top dog to discuss it. Meanwhile Ailes is trying to get Trumps Wife and Daughter to change is mind. This has relegated Ailes to being ineffective in his own organization. So, will Ailes save his job and capitulate, or defer to Murdock to solve his problems for him. The art of the deal is being taught to those who can see it happening. I will watch the result with interest. I will not watch the debate until resolution is made. Oh, I am a curious DUCK, so I will watch it after the fact, on YOUTUBE, but I will not give Fox the advertising bonus of readership if they don’t. The game is afoot.

It’s sad to see how so many good people on FR focus only on the bits/pieces of the bigger picture. They waste time squabbling over megyn who is just a tool being used as the big shiny object by Fox as they push their devious plans ahead. I stopped watching Fox around the time 2008 or so when they let some foreigner buy in - i knew they were shifting to UNAMERICAN/unconservative directions.
Trump sees the big picture - like he said - Fox was playing games.
Truth is posted in other articles today Fox debate “guests” planned and Fox being very for open boarder/immigration - heavy shift away from American values.
