With his wildly shifting ideologies and stances in the past... how do you know what Trump stands for? I get it if his supporters are making a long leap of faith, but for one of them to actually admit it would be refreshing.
C'mon... it's a leap of faith, no?
I don’t consider it a leap of faith. I do, however, have faith! There are no guarantees. That said, Trump is a good bet. Don’t you want to win? Shouldn’t America and Americans come first?
Reagan’s plan required employers to attest to their employees’ immigration status; made it illegal to hire or recruit illegal immigrants knowingly; legalized certain seasonal agricultural illegal immigrants, and; legalized illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 (was supposed to be 1980) and had resided there continuously with the penalty of a fine, back taxes due, and admission of guilt; candidates were required to prove that they were not guilty of crimes, that they were in the country before January 1, 1982 (again, should have been 1980), and that they possessed minimal knowledge about U.S. history, government, and the English language.
Congress members watered down the enforcement provisions in the Immigration Reform and Control Act. There was a lot of opposition to employer sanctions, especially from Kennedy. He wanted “criminal penalties to be based only upon injunctive finding of pattern or practice.” He tried to end the employer sanctions. Kennedy also fought hard to move the legalization cut-off date from 1980 to 1982 so that more people could benefit from the amnesty.
If they didn’t amend the heck out of that bill, it would have worked and we’d have better law enforcement today.
Maybe Donald is getting positive polling data and now doesn’t want to risk his large lead. Not sure M. Kelly wins should Trump not show up. There are lot of people who are looking for the opposite of Obama. If M. Kelly has a chip on her shoulder, people will turn the Kelly Show off from now on.
Fired his campaign team seniors and hired Casey and Meese. Reagan thought skipping the debate was huge mistake, and that he would lose IA... and he did. The headline is pointless and non-sequiter to mr. trump— trying to align him with Reagan, just like obamaumao’s people tried to do early on— to no effect.
“Donât you want to win? Shouldnât America and Americans come first?”
Of course. That’s why I don’t back Trump. I see right through to his extensive statist, liberal past. It isn’t a pretty sight.
I don’t trust a syllable he utters, but you obviously do. So good luck.
Talk after Iowa.
Didn’t Reagan have to sign the amendment to the bill as well? Also President Reagan was there until 1989 and really didn’t worry to much about all the illegals not following the law even watered down that he signed. I think he is a fine President but certainly not perfect.
You know your tag line is quite sacrilegious.
Do you really believe Trump will solve this issue?
Cruz handlers are likely to create something embarassingly over the top for him to say, meanwhile Kasich/Jebbers et al are going to be calling him a Canuck who cannot serve, etc.
I agree Cruz is likely to say something over the top. But I have two thoughts on that:
1) That’s what is required at this late date.
2) Cruz will make it up himself; I don’t think he has “handlers” that tell him what to say. That’s my indictment of my own guy. I think he is quite able to go over the top by himself. That’s a weakness I’ve seen. Far less of an issue than with Trump, who doesn’t make any statement without going “over the top”.
