I tend to not favor public executions on principle. I much prefer expeditious executions as in one appeal and you're done. This idea that these scumbags sit on death row for 20+ years is nonsensical. But, in a capital crime, the evidence needs to be unimpeachable and that the accused is without question the guilty party. If all you have is a circumstantial case...life at hard labor.
But again you want the quick rush to judgment, just with a different fig leaf.
That becomes impossible with a government that answers to itself, not to God.
