We must be “who we are” It is important to understand “who we are” as nation. We excluded Chinese , by law from 1870 until 1943-— ALL CHINESE. They interfered with our labor and jobs, driving wages down to the detriment of out working people. ( this is far less than coming in as Trojan horses to kill us) Yes! Not only did we stop all Japanese, German and Italian immigration during and after WWII but we dead stopped Chinese for 75 years!! as being in our national interest, from any immigration into this country. That is “who we are”and how we have preserved this great nation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Exclusion_Act

Actually there were “loopholes” in the Chinese exclusion act that permitted family members and “selected” others to immigrate. There will soon be a documentary on the Chinese community in Missippi that discusses this, although its prime focus is on those young Chinese-American men from those 18 MS counties who served in WWII.
