Trump: I'll work with Democrats
The Hill ^ | 26 Jan 16 | Jesse Byrnes

Posted on 01/26/2016 9:45:02 AM PST by elhombrelibre

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is stressing his bona fides as a dealmaker who'd be able to enter the White House and work with congressional Democrats to hammer out agreements.

"I think I'm going to be able to get along with Pelosi — I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi," Trump said Tuesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," referring to the House minority leader.

"Reid's going to be gone. I've always had a decent relationship with Reid," Trump said, referring to Harry Reid (D-Nev.), the Senate minority leader. "I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid."

Trump said he thought he'd get along with "just about everybody," including Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), likely to be the next Senate Democratic leader, who Trump said he was "close to ... in many in ways."

Yep. It’s about winning for me. Next question?

“Trump: I’ll work with Democrats”

OUTSTANDING, just like Reagan who also had to contend with hostile Democrats. But Reagan prevailed, as will Trump, with Reagan getting most of his priorities - tax cuts, deregulation, and the military build up, to name a few.

I’d HATE to elect an ideologue that might be right on many issues, but is unwilling (or unable) to work with the opposition to get stuff through Congress

But you win nothing important for the Republic if you and your "winner" and his zealots lack the qualities Fred was talking about.

In short, FReeper friend LS, your retort shows that you need to be more serious, not just post zingers that fall pretty flat (and ultimately embarrass this entire noble Forum).

Here’s a non-zinger for you. There is only one guy who can roll this stuff back and perhaps save the Republic. His name ain’t Ted.

Now, don’t tell me about “embarrassing” a forum I’ve been on for 15+ years, just because you prefer Cruz.

And personally, I kinda like the zingers.

Thanks for the non-zinger reply (even if it was otherwise non-responsive [ha!]).

I’d rather get “nothing” else than “something” bad.

This time I am not looking for a conservative. I have learned that once they reach Washington, they are no longer Conservative even though they swear they are. So, this time, I am looking for a proven EXECUTIVE to get the country back on the right tract and Labels be damned.

I;\’ll take a proven success with enormous skills over a slicck tongued debater who has accomplished piddly squat in 3 years and is beholding to his money men.

That depends on what you call an American Stalwart. I don’t think Canadians qualify.

Then you should NEVER vote for a politician who has EVER lavished praise on Obama and Hillary as great American leaders and then styled himself as more-or-less conservative.

Obviously you have never been in the Construction business, nor the Development business or you would never make such a neophyte statement.

You want to turn a huge business....the United States of America over to just another political sweet talker who has never ever put his own bucks on the line and i doubt has ever run a lemonade stand. We are in an extremely serious condition economically and Cruz supporters can’t seem to see how totally he doesn’t fit the bill for our Executive. It is going to take someone with business brilliance to be able to negotiate the hurricanes ahead of us. I’ll take a proven winner in this battle. We do not have either the time, nor the financial strength to train Cruz, or anybody else, for that matter. We are down to the last few grains of sand in the hour glass. NOW we must reverse our decline or we are finished. I will not take a chance on someone who doesn’t have the skill set we need. We are not arguing a case in court, we are trying to save our country.

I like the zingers too, LS. Too bad most of them are not understood by the narrow minded tunnel vision set.

You sound like the silly people who won’t eat frogs legs or alligator tail because they have a mental vision that it’s all bad! Get out of your cracker box and join the world.

"I will expect a full apology from you."

An apology that I will be very happy to provide. Can I expect the same from you should the opposite occur?

"So now working with the GOPe is a positive?"
Only if you are a skilled enough negotiator and leader to be able to lead the GOPe to do the right thing. The Donald is,

Ummmmm, because the Donald is working so well with them already... they are under his thumb... they are supporting his candidacy and campaign... they are singing his praises... SMH.

You worshippers just won't let a single fact wake you up, will ya?
