Speaking of Marshalltown trowels, there’s a video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VGjA66RSm0) of a guy laying cinder blocks - the big ones. He picks them up with one hand. A comment says they’re called “birth control blocks” because when you get home after laying them all day you’re not gonna be in any mood to procreate.
That’s pretty funny. Almost mesmerizing watching a pro work those blocks. When I was 18, I worked in a building block manufacturing plant. I was at the end of a roller conveyer, stacking 8x8x16 blocks on pallets, all day long. I’ve got a picture of me skinning a deer. I look like a young Charles Atlas. Now- not so much! I do not miss messing with concrete. Great memories gittin’ r’ dun’ though.
