With voting in Iowa a week away, there is panic in Washington DC over what looks like the need to choose between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz
In the good old days, we used to sit by the fire and complain about the liberal Republican establishment that favoured moderates like Gerald Ford over conservative heroes like Ronald Reagan.
We live in much more complex times now. Today, as fears grow that we might have to make a binary choice between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, it is becoming clear that this is really a tale of two establishments.
Facing what Washington DC journalist David Drucker describes as a "Sophie's choice" - except Sophie loved her kids and this is a lesser of two evils situation - modern establishmentarians are forced to side with an ally they never thought they'd encounter.
In this case, we are witnessing "Republican establishment" members siding with Donald Trump and "conservative establishment" members - some of whom have lived in Washington DC for decades and have amassed millions of dollars by working in the conservative movement and casting themselves as "outsiders" - siding with Cruz....

NR hates Trump and supports Cruz. They are the elite of the Republicans.
Okay, but this is from a newspaper in England.
Oh.
Well, that figures.
NR doesn’t necessarily support Cruz. Medved was on that list and he hates Cruz and constantly bashes the shutdown.
NR is more likely the types who hate both Cruz and Trump. They’re mostly Romney people.
The types supporting Cruz over Trump are the people who are either conservative on everything including defense/economic/social issues, like Mark Levin, or who have social conservatism as their primary focus, like Phil Robertson.
If you wish the Republicans were for same-sex marriage and abortion, you’re going to be against Cruz and with Trump in a two-man race.
There’s no such thing as “conservative establishment.” The establishment refers to those who actually have power in the government. Conservatives haven’t had that in decades.
That last sentence means Trump and Cruz are against same sex marriage and against abortion, as I read it, is that what you mean?
Many of the NR posters on Twitter, their actual journalists are for Cruz.

Just wait until the Democrats buy the You’ve Been Trumped documentary and put it on the air to campaign against him. Trump’s King of Bain video has already been pre-packaged for them. The Dems will go after Trump in ways the Republicans never would, as a greedy capitalist, woman-hating, racist, etc. Trump would be destroyed in the general election and certainly would not get any swing, crossover Democrat votes.

Nah the GOPe will do to Cruz what they did to Chris McDaniels(MS) and Cuccenelli(VA) which is undermine him or vote for the Democrat. Classic GOPe tactic towards Conservatives
I believe that some people want to win so bad that they get mad when you bring up facts from Trump’s biography and when you note his Democrats support for so long. When you share his character flaws, they say it doesn’t matter. When did a person’s character stop mattering to conservatives? It happened when the only way people could support Donald Trump was by overlooking his many, many flaws that are shocking to those who still care about Judeo-Christian values. Trump flaunts with his lifestyle his disregard for honesty (see his books that brag about lying), fidelity (Marla Maples, for example), and his cavalier indifference to sincere political convictions. In short, he is a fraud.
July 24, 2015: - 'Flat-out lie': Cruz calls McConnell a liar on Senate floor
...."It saddens me to say this. I sat in my office, I told my staff the majority leader looked me in the eye and looked 54 Republicans in the eye. I cannot believe he would tell a flat-out lie, and I voted based on those assurances that he made to each and every one of us," Cruz said.
"What we just saw today was an absolute demonstration that not only what he told every Republican senator, but what he told the press over and over and over again, was a simple lie.".....
Jan 19, 2016: - Trump pans Cruz's 'temperament'
"..Ted has got a rough temperament, you can't call people liars on the Senate floor when they are your leaders. Not a good thing to do if you want to curry favor and get the positive votes later on own," Trump said.".....
Jan 25, 2016 - Trump: Establishment rallying behind me to stop 'nasty' Cruz
..."Look, at a certain point, we got to make deals," Trump continued. "We can't have a guy who stands in the middle of the Senate floor and every other senator thinks he's a whack job. You have to make deals, you have to get along, that's the purpose of what our founders created, and Ted cannot get along with anybody. He's a nasty person."
why don’t you get your own Web Site bro if you think it’s your job to totally spam a political blog with your scores of Cruz threads a day?.. a thread or two a day ok but you find EVERY PRO Cruz article you can in an amount of time and then spam post them as fast as you type and it’s somebody else’s web site.. I donate to FR and I certainly wouldn’t spam thread the thing because I have a little bit of respect to the others and Jim Robinson.. this is not your personal Cruz campaign site and you don’t own it so give it a rest
Thanks for letting me know I’m effective.
and you are another poster who thinks this server is here for you to personally spam thread everything you can find on the internet to push your political agenda..
Cruising for a bruising
“...push my political agenda”
?
well maybe the admins will figure out you and those like you are making it hard to ever donate to a site that allows people to spam thread hundreds of campaign articles one after the other day after day for weeks.. and I mean for any candidate.. you are a very selfish person to think you own the place
The administrators could just spend five minutes reading your posts and figure out why you want to shut-up the pro-Cruz people. They’re not dumb.
