I think this is great. A high school senior sets lofty goals for himself and then sets about achieving them. Just goes to show what can be accomplished when you set the bar high for yourself.

While Trump is my first choice, I would vote for Cruz in a general. For a person to have goals in high school and to accomplish them is something to be proud of. Would people laugh at someone who always wanted to be a doctor or teacher and work to achieve the goal? It is silly to mock Cruz for a yearbook goal.

People don't love the guy who wanted to be president his whole life long,
If they never, ever loved him, how did he get elected class president twice? The first time, you win on popularity and likability. The second time you win on performance. Of course, Cruz is ahead of all candidates in likability polling.

When you are arguing for individual rights to keep and bear arms before the U.S. Supreme Court, and winning, talking IS action.

He left out the part where Glenn Beck swears him in, his campaign jumps the shark, and he wins pluralities in 2 or 3 states.
Well, as of right now, two of those states are California and Texas. You can push Trump without the snark. If you really think Cruz is losing, then why bother? Let him take second place to keep the Establishment tied up in knots.

There may not be that much to choose from in kids running for class president. Maybe the other kid was just like Ted. Or maybe nobody wanted the office enough to make a serious effort to win.

Not that I can see. Cruz did well in head to heads against Hillary, but Gallup favorability polls had him a ways behind Ben Carson with the public.

Let me add that a state Solicitor General’s job is not a political one. Of course, he works at the pleasure of the governor who appoints him and follows his policies, but it is a working lawyer’s job, actually litigating cases, which Cruz did quite a bit, including some very important SCOTUS arguments.

This people and society will never recognize God’s Judgment - instead they will blame ‘Climate Change’ and their select political targets.
It’s why Jesus said that a time of Tribulation was coming that had never been like it before, or ever will happen again, because if He did not intervene and return, no flesh would be saved alive.
A proud arrogant people will not humble themselves and repent of our sins. Indeed not even the Church in America by and large is willing to preach that truth these days. It’s why you have the Osteenification of Health/Wealth Prosperity gospel.

I admire the high school yearbook post by Ted Cruz. Five students from my high school said they would be president. Many students at Cal have expressed a wish to become president. Thus, Ted Cruz is the leader of a large group of students who publicly announce their desire to become president. No doubt, Cruz would be an excellent president with stronger principles and fewer scandals than many other candidates.

Maybe, but until you can come up with a scintilla of evidence that goes the other way, it shows that Cruz was more likable than at least one other person. I went to a small school, and there was never a shortage of candidates for class president.
Cruz did well in head to heads against Hillary, but Gallup favorability polls had him a ways behind Ben Carson with the public.
Good point. I forgot about Carson. Nonetheless, being more likable than the likely Democrat nominee and a number of his Republican competitors is a FAR cry from "they never, ever loved him".
I personally don't find Trump likable, but I am willing to vote for him in the General election. I have also avoided taking shots at him because I LIKE keeping the Establishment tied up in knots.

So, from many of these posts - It’s no longer good for a young person to want to grow up to be President? Or, just not good to say it out loud? Or, just not good for ‘certain people’ to say it? Or, just not good to say it, mean it and do it?
WTH has happened to us?
I miss Grandpa’s America. I’m now sad for FR and heading out. Sorry, Jim, it was good for a while.

“If MY people.....” who is that? Not nominal Christians, not Sunday only Christians, not in-name-only Christians, not professing Christians - but those who really ARE God’s people are the ones who are called to FIRST humble ourselves........”judgment begins with the house of God.” Our nation will of course not repent - unless we repent first.
The condition of our nation is a reflection foremost of the poor spiritual condition of God’s people - exactly like Israel - and we are no longer salt to the nation.
It all begins and ends with us. In reality of course, it all begins and ends with the Lord Jesus Christ returning.....”Come, Lord Jesus!”
