Pat Caddell: 2016 Election About Insurgency, Not Ideology
Breitbart ^ | 25 Jan 2016 | MIKE FLYNN

Posted on 01/25/2016 12:14:22 PM PST by Hojczyk

Caddell noted that the only two Republican candidates who have not hired or surrounded themselves with national Republican consultants are Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% . Scott Walker, he said, surrounded himself with consultants out of Washington and out of the RNC and they immediately destroyed his candidacy.

The remaining candidates, he said, have listened to their consultants and have relied on out-dated messaging and strategies and have spent millions of dollars to no appreciable effect.

Mike Murphy has spent millions taking Jeb Bush from 17 percent [in the polls] to 4 percent, Caddell said.

The same sclerosis is plaguing Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% ’s campaign, according to Caddell. Although Rubio has done very well in the debates, Caddell said his campaign “doesn’t move. He attributes this to the fact that Rubio’s campaign is “run by the Romney people.

Rubio is unwilling to run as an outsider, Caddell observed. Rubio’s campaign seems to be focused on presenting the Florida Senator as the most conservative member of the political establishment. If, as Caddell thinks, the election is about an insurgency rather than ideology, Rubio’s strategy is doubly wrong.

Caddell also said that he was surprised [Rubio] hasn’t used electability as a cornerstone of his campaign. More than half of Republican voters are angry at their political leadership, Caddell noted, but they also want to win in November.

The growing animosity between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, and the very negative tone of their campaigns against each other, does provide an opening for a third candidate to surprise in Iowa or New Hampshire, Caddell said.

Pat is an honest commentator. He 90% right as far as I am concerned. Karl Rove is a partisan who is falsely labeled a “commentator” ( like My GYN kelly)

Rubio might be wrong, but he has little choice. He has always been a climb (quickly) through the ranks type. He has an idea of his limitations, and now is reduced to hoping to back into the nomination, or to accept this as a prep for his role as "next in line" (how'd that work for Santorum and Huckabee?).

I kinda like Pat. He’s not a modern progressive commie sort of democrat just followed the political process for over 40 years.
He seems to have survived being stupid and young and made it to the old sage age...
I am a dyed in wool Christian Conservative and I am a Trump supporter...Not because I see him as a Conservative...but i see him as somebody who will kick butt and knock a few heads and get something moving again in a very broken Washington. It may be the last chance before the wheels come off and we dip into anarchy and chaos.

On target. We’ll take a less-than-ideologically-pure nominee, IF he can deliver a crippling groin shot to the establishment.

Pat is accurate here. I’m surprised more commentators haven’t tied Trump to Sanders as as BOTH parties facing an uprising this year. They keep treating Hillary like she’s inevitable.

no kidding. Too bad 30% are supporting a progressive who is pretending to be gop. Nothing conservative about DT. I have seen nothing to make me trust him other than he says to.

Pat is pretty normal for a RAT but I caught him last week fairly gushing for Hillary.
He is on Fox to drag Hillary’s stinking body across the finish line.

Pat Coddell was Carters pollster in 1980. While all the polls have it a close race. Coddell told Cartr a week before the election he was going to get blown out by Reagan.
