Hmmmm. My guess is she’s on Lisinopril for hypertension. One of the side effects is the spasmodic dry cough that takes place late morning or early afternoon depending when you take it. It comes out of the blue. Very strange, but real.

My mom had that happen, doc adjusted her meds and the constant coughing stopped.
