Very interesting morning TV. On CNBC, Jean Claude Trichet, said that the reason Europe has open boarders is because German companies need more employees. So there it is. The former head of the ECB admits what everyone knows and no one has said. Its not humanity that makes Europeans open their borders, its the pyramid scheme of European companies wanting more cheap labour to pay taxes. Thats why most immigrants are young men and not the children, women and old people that are normally displaced by war.
But these men are a little rougher than first thought. It reminds me of the scientists who brought Killer Bees from Africa to South America because they produce more honey. I think the parallels are striking.
I’m not sure that is the reason (a shortage of workers); the countries of southern Europe have plenty of idle workers, but Germany wants people who speak German and have a useful skill (neither of which applies to these “refugees”).
