The establishment R’s helped Trump out. They made the case Trump isn’t an ideologue conservative and the establishment opposes him. That just helps Trump.
They really don’t ‘get it.’
Trump is for cutting government and destroying the status quo.
Cruz comes closest to that as an existing Senator also fighting against the status quo.
More of the same vs. change. That’s the decision to voters in every election.
Trump is the vote for greatest change from our status quo.
Clearly that is the way you see it. I don't. Not at all.
In most things Trump is not likely to have any interest in changing the status quo in any significant way:
Income tax policy. Anyone hoping for significant tax reform ought to think twice about Trump. Trump is too invested in gaming the tax system to have any passion for change.
Regulatory Reform: Again, Trump voters hoping for changes to the crushing burden of regulation are likely to come away fro a Trump presidency profoundly disappointed.
Supreme Court appointments: this is where I think a President Trump will disappoint most profoundly. I fear that Trump would leave us with a liberal activist court for another generation and a half. We have a chance to drive the court toward Constitutionalism, but Trump does not have either the instinct or the interest for that.
Trump is for cutting government and destroying the status quo.
I don’t think trump will cut government... He may upset the statusquo, but he is a big government guy... Especially when he is in charge, and the precedents he sets will be used by all presidents to end government by the people.
Hmmmm...Thomas Sowell is now an “establishment republican” and Donald Trump is a conservative.
Yeah. Right. And up is down and left is right.
