In Connecticut, when I lived there until 200, I was always a registered member of the GOP and often a delegate to state conventions, a GOP Town Chairman, and numerous other things. I NEVER voted for Lowell Weicker or John Rowland or several other GOP candidates. I knew, respected and voted for Joe Lieberman against Weicker, as probably a slight majority of Republicans did as about 40% of the Demonrats voted for Weicker. Election records would show that I voted only in GOP primaries and was registered GOP to do so and that I voted in every general election. No one could possibly know for whom I voted in the privacy of the voting booth. Maybe NYC does this differently?
