I don’t want to quibble but have to disagree with one point in your post. Romney was not a moderate. He was to the left of Ted Kennedy while running for governor and bragged about it. Proved it by not fighting against gay marriage in his state and then again by pushing RomneyCare. And he lied like hell during his primary for president when he claimed to be conservative. And proved he lied by going on the warpath against conservatives soon after losing to Obama. Screw Romney.
Fair enough. Mitt was a liberal.
But based on his own statements and actions, Trump has to be seen as at least equally liberal. Wealth taxes, single-payer health care, being “very pro-choice” and supporting Schumer, Clinton, DiBlasio, etc. That’s all pretty far-left stuff.
And Trump doesn’t have the excuse that he had to say that stuff and do those things to get elected. He wasn’t running for anything - he just volunteered all those positions.
Hank
but Jim, Trump is wanting Universal Healthcare and says Gay Marriage is the law of the land.. any difference in that and Romney? or is it me?
I know this thread isn’t for discussion of the candidates, but just saying.
Most of the Cruzers weren’t politically aware then, much less seen FR then, but you handled the Romney thing perfectly in 2012. I and others were very proud of you and in awe of your wisdom and commitment.
Thank you, Jim. Never change!
