I didn’t say who I was supporting, just that Trump is a self-styled populist, but not a conservative.
It really is not as simple as that. He may be a self-styled populist but he holds many conservative views. As far as your proclaiming that he is not a conservative... measurable more intelligent people than you or I have made the same claim, but if the free republic nightly caucus is accurate at least half the people who participated last night would seem to disagree with you.
Unlike Trump and Reagan I did not start out as a liberal. I have been arguing for conservative principals since I was in grade school. Two of my most valued possessions are letters I received from Ronald Reagan thanking me for my actions and support while I was in my twenties. You can claim that I am not conservative if you would like, but everyone who has ever known me would probably laugh at you. I know who I am and what I am and don't care that much about the labels others might want to attach to me.
I will say it again... I will be voting for whoever is chosen to be the next Republican nominee for President. All they really need to do to make me happy is not veto legislation sent to his desk to reverse the damage Obama has done and to pick conservative judges for the Supreme Court. Everything beyond that will be gravy.
I have some reservations about both Cruz and Trump and all of the other candidates as well. But they all are far better than what the Democrats will be nominating. A Democrat president will mean ruin for our country and our way of life. We need to keep that in mind at all times.
