Don't be surprised to see the barber patron shooters arrested for using excessive force or for shooting when the criminals were exiting the scene. The argument will be, "since the criminals were exiting, they no longer posed a threat." Then there's the civil court, where the deceased parents can sue for big bucks for the death of their child.

Our government makes it very difficult to defend ourselves.

Remember Bernhard Goetz. "He shot four young men when they tried to mug him on a New York City Subway in 1984. He fired five shots, seriously wounding all four men. THE GOVERNMENT CHARGED HIM with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and several firearms offenses. A jury found guilty carrying an unlicensed firearm, for which he served eight months of a one-year sentence. In 1996, one of the shot men, who had been left paraplegic and brain damaged, obtained a civil judgment of $43 million against Goetz ." - (From Wiki)
