Thank you, gleeaikin. He doesn’t drink coffee or anything with caffeine usually and hadn’t had anything but water and eggs for breakfast. I gave him hot tea with honey when he came inside just to warm up. Then about an hour later he vomited like crazy. He’s doing ok right now and hasn’t eaten but giving sips of water. He’s hydrated (so far). He refuses to eat the pastina soup or anything right now. He wants OJ but I’m not sure that’s a good idea?

I googled after the vomiting and saw it is one of the symptoms of heart issues/attack given the exertion of shoveling all that snow. He’s fit and active but has been on high blood pressure medicine since he was 25.

I decided to do a bit more Google searching and found this under Exercise vomiting and high blood pressure. Here was one link on the first page. Be watchful for pain in the left shoulder or arm. Dehydration is definitely mentioned. Lack of potassium can be an issue, so if he craves OJ, I would suggest diluting it with water and have him sip it slowly. Then as soon as the travel conditions are safe take him to a doctor. Also be sure he is having a good diet and supplements suitable for high blood pressure, and have him drinking 1/2 gallon of water a day to reduce danger of dehydration and reduced blood volume causing the heart to work harder to push the blood around.
