Note that second part — that “Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.”

Yet, John Roberts think that mandating the purchase of health insurance is constitutionally permitted under the taxing power.

"Yet, John Roberts think that mandating the purchase of health insurance is constitutionally permitted under the taxing power."

This basically is why I cannot get excited about voting for Ted Cruz. Both Roberts and Cruz were indoctrinated in Harvard Law School imo.

In fact, why did not Cruz take a few minutes to read the Supreme Court case excerpts previously posted in this thread, excerpts which indicate that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate INTRAstate healthcare issues, instead of reading from Dr. Seuss to filibuster Obamacare?

Sen. Cruz ends anti-Obamacare talkathon after more than 21 hours

Also, regarding Cruzs ”promise” to get rid of the IRS, note that even though regulatory agency IRS is illegal under the Constitution imo, no president can get rid of the IRS without the consent of Congress.

Remember in November !

When patriots elect Trump, or whatever conservative they elect, they will also need to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will be willing to work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support the president.

Such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring, activist justices.
