He just makes Ted look even more extreme that he is.

Perhaps in today's political climate ranging from hardcore-shoot-'em-in-the-streets statism to the soft socialism masquerading as 'freedom' Cruz appears to be an "extremist".

Actually, to me, he is just a bit closer to original intent than the other candidates.

When relatively ordinary socialists grabbed the 'middle of the road' years ago with the media, education establishment, and using their own extremists to make their position more reasonable, what passes for 'conservative' moved a lane to the left. Which makes people driving on the right side of the line "extremists". Cruz is more on target than most.

Now, I like Sarah, I voted for her to be a heartbeat away from the Oval Office (one could hope, after all). The GOPe was so afraid of her that they scuttled her and McCain with her. They either figured they could rein Obama or that they would be able to contain him (then gave the SOB everything he ever asked for).

I am sad that she has made the choices she has, and wish her well, but disagree.

Mr Trump has already traded the ethanol mandate for Iowa, along with an implication that he would continue the EPA, if not expand it.

Wow. A big deal when it costs every American 10% of their MPG, subsidy money, and is Federally mandated, for a little bitty state like Iowa. Not many electoral votes there.

What will the guy who wrote The Art of the Deal trade for electoral votes from New York or California? He's writing checks we'll have to cash, one way or another, and the first votes haven't even been cast.

I much prefer someone of principle, whether they are 'loveable' or not.

Thanks for the reply and I appreciate your thoughts.

To me, Ted’s fatal flaw is that he has already been painted into a corner. He did this to himself and he has zero room to move. Unfortunately, there are not enough purists to give him a victory in the general election.

Trump can win and he will do a lot of good things. Maybe not everything the religious right wants, but plenty of what Americans want.

Ted would have been better off staying with Donald and getting the VP slot. He’s young enough and being the VP to Trump would have been great for credibility and learning how to appeal to *everyone*.
