I love Dr. Sowell, no ifs, ands nor buts.
I disagree with Dr. Sowell because what he sees as "gross defects" Trump supporters see as strengths. I don't know any Trumpsters that believes Trump is as conservative as is Ted Cruz {or cares}.
I'm a Cruzer, my wife and daughter are Trumpsters, and both are life long "conservatives" and we watch the Trump rallies and even I admit that no one can garner the emotional response that Trump gets.
They both say the same thing, we are tired of the same-o-same-o bullshit and we need someone with balls to change the system and clean out the stables.
End of story, my logic will not Trump their justifiable emotion. Trump may not give us the results we want, but he will shake up DC, and what comes out of chaos and destruction, well that is the big reason that there is so much angst.

The Cuban Hispanics are far different than the Mexican Hispanics they have truly come from hell, they WANT the boarders closed they work HARD and do not want their jobs taken from them!!!! In the Cuban community living off the government is shameful, not so in CA. Trump employs MANY of these people in Florida!!!

If you read their statement of purpose, they could pass for a chapter of the DAR or SAR, just an Italian version. Unlike today's ethnic grievance and Balkanization lobbies, their purpose was to get Italian immigrants integrated into American life as quickly as possible.
Ethnic Italians make some of the best Americans, including my father-in-law.

If they don’t see any particular benefit from voting for a Republican they default to the Democrat who promises to give them stuff. A Republican runs who believably promises to create a situation where more work is available and wages are going up in the market then they will vote for that guy.
