It simply means people like to be associated with winners. Trump is winning and will win. And Ted Cruz, for some reason, is incredibly disliked by many of his peers in the beltway. Being disliked isn’t being an outsider. People PERSONALLY dislike Cruz. Its an ongoing and underlying theme in this race.
They don’t dislike Cruz because he’s a poor conversationalist, they hate Cruz because he doesn’t shut up and get in line. He’s a back-bencher that calls out their BS, like Churchill was.
When a man stands for something noble, he makes fast enemies of the ignoble.
That those who have run as Conservatives and fallen far short of that mark don't like Cruz is no surprise, really. No one likes to be forced to confront their own failings.
