“Penis Invidia!”

Get your mind off of the penises. I was talking about Ted wielding a pathetically small hammer.

The Cruz missile is inert.

Did you even watch the add? The Ad doesn’t mention Kelo, it mentions the government using Eminent Domain.

You do know that Trump’s immigration spiel is just his negotiating position, right? Trump is the guy who wrote “The Art of the Deal.” This position will change right after the Primary season closes.
Prior to becoming a Republican, Trump was pro-amnesty, pro-imminent domain, pro-abortion, gun grabbing Democrat. How do we know he has actually changed?
Cruz actually has some scars from taking a stand on his principles.

“This is actually a pretty good ad exposing how Trump has used eminent domain to bulldoze an elderly woman’s home to create a limo parking lot for his casino”

Do you realize that is a lie?? After asking as much as 5m Vera Coking’s son sold her house at auction for 530K. That took place many years after Trump left Atlantic city.

With that why would I watch a video with a lie as it’s premise?? That seems pretty foolish to me.

Well, I guess if we are going to disregard the constitution on Natural Born Citizen we might as well disregard it on eminent domain too. Talk about dishonest ads. The woman was offered more than just compensation.

Amendment 5 - Trial and Punishment, Compensation for Takings. Ratified 12/15/1791.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Yeah, Trump. Read his words of wisdom in post 39. If Donald does not like your taste in decor he thinks he should be able to use the power of the state to take your property for his benefit. Do you agree?

I guess you guys aren’t fans of the Eisenhower Interstate System, you know those highways that you drive on.

I guess you're not a fan of the Constitution. You know, that document that sets forth (and, more importantly, limits) the power of the government.

nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Interstate highway system = public use

Limousine waiting area outside casino = NOT public use

Ted goes for the jugular. But it will not matter here at FR. His supporters here, for the most part, will either excuse it, downplay property rights or make fun of the old woman.

You got that right.

I guess you’re not smart enough to know the Interstate Highway system was for the benefit of the whole country and not for the profit of select private individuals as was Kelo.

I wanna see the scars. I don’t think anybody has laid a hand on him. Maybe hurt his feelings. Lots of his supporters have tender feelings too but they will survive. If they are conservative.

Liar, liar, pants on fire. Why do Cruzbots lie so much?

Trump has never taken so much as one inch of property via eminent domain. Not one person ever lost an inch of property to Trump that they did not willing sell.

It doesn’t matter if it was two billion, or two cents.

It is not the government’s constitutional role to force one citizen to sell private property to another citizen.

Trump's response to this is laughably ignorant:

Ted Cruz complains about my views on eminent domain, but without it we wouldn't have roads, highways, airports, schools or even pipelines.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 22, 2016

Completely ignores the public/private distinction. No one is complaining about the necessary use of eminent domain for public works projects. It's his views on the use of eminent domain for private development that we and Ted (and anyone who has even glanced at the Constitution) have a problem with.

Actually the ad is accurate albeit no complete. Sort of like Trumps claim that Goldman owns Cruz.

Don't move the goalposts.

"This is actually a pretty good ad exposing how Trump has used eminent domain to bulldoze an elderly woman's home to create a limo parking lot for his casino:"

That is a lie. It's stunning Ted Cruz would lead an ad with that kind of perfidy. Absolutely stunning. He must think people are too stupid to figure out the statement is absolutely and totally false.

He wasn’t successful in his efforts, so it’s not a problem?

You’re going to use that as a defense?

Please, it was two million. That’s important because Cruz people tend to downplay this.

Are you SERIOIUS? The money HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. It is PERSONAL PROPERTY. It's HER's. Not Yours or Trumps.

Do you hear what you are saying? You are suggesting Anyone can can force you to sell anything and everything by mearly paying a large amount to you whether you want to sell it or not?

I really can not believe what I have been reading the last few weeks to defend Donald Trump. It's just plain sad! This Country's hope of remaining a Republic is lost if this is what many thinks constitutes a Free Country.
