Trump is criticizing Cruz for calling McConnell what he is - a liar.

Why is Trump trying to ingratiate himself to one of the most despicable RINO in Washington - especially now, and especially after he called everyone in Washington a moron?

By leading and getting the American people behind him.

Leading isn’t about being loved by congress.

Congress had no love of Reagan either. He appealed to the people and made things happen.

It actually pretty simple.

First as we’ve seen with Obama, the bully pulpit of the presidency is a powerful tool.

Second, people talk like this is a bad thing. I for one would like to see it difficult for the establishment to push bloated unconstitutional crap through as law.

It is simple: pass a law that is remotely constitutional and remotely conservative and he’ll pass it.

If people are concerned that we won’t get enough trillion dollar omnibus spending bills full of pork that we cannot afford, or huuuuuuge transportation bills that for some reason legalize forty-fifth trimester abortions and billion dollar slavery reparations, I’m not feeling it.

Let's examine the thesis of this vanity: Ted Cruz, a Republican president, will not be able to get "anything done" because the Republican Congress "hates" him but Donald Trump will "get what he wants" because he will ask for 3X as much.

What insight! Why hasn't any president thought of this before?

Instead of asking for three times his secret goal, Cruz will go on television and call liars liars and make his case to the American public on radio. I thought Ronald Reagan went over the heads of Congress and made his case to the American people. I thought he revived the Saturday radio talks. I thought Ronald Reagan was widely admired for going over the heads of the antagonistic Congress, usually a majority Congress from the other party, to "get what he wants."

But then getting the people behind an idea is really getting what people want. What we will get with Donald Trump will always be what Donald Trump wants.

I don't think any of us are going to like very much what we get because we will not like very much with Donald Trump wants. His supporters think he wants deportations and closed borders and a robust military. They might get that but they would get that with Cruz. More likely they will get a wall and a chaotic arbitrary re-admission regime. What they will get that they might not like is big government, crony capitalism, bailouts, subsidies for biofuels and sugar and everything else that might strike the Donald's fancy. From a man who favored TARP, Obama's bailout, the bailout of the automobile companies, we are very likely to get a very strong dose of Donald Trump's personal crony capitalism.

His supporters think they will get "really great deals" from foreign countries on trade but what they might get is a devastating trade war.

Trump's supporters have no idea what they will get with Donald Trump because they have no understanding of the man's core philosophy. They are chasing shiny objects.

Well .. the TRUTH is .. there are quite a few people in Congress who support Cruz.

Once again, we have caught Trump in a LIE about Cruz.

Every place I've enjoyed working, I reported to a boss that everyone hated.

Those people doing the hating, are trying to avoid hard work, accountability, productivity, and trying to collect a bigger paycheck for doing so.

Everyone just raved about the Titanic as they set off to sea.

Everyone just loved working at Enron. Everyone just loved Ted Kennedy, but how many would take a late night drive in an Oldsmobile with him?

You make a good point - I do think Cruz would have a hard time getting things through Congress. It's the biggest reason he's an imperfect candidate. You're also right in that Trump would likely be better at it.

The problem for me is that I have very little faith that Trump will do the right kind of deal. For example, I'm very confident he'd do a deal with Democrats to "improve" Obamacare, or perhaps pass something that is even more liberal. I'm sure Trump will think he got a great deal. The problem is that I suspect my definition of a good deal would be very different from his.

I like the constitutional conservatism espoused by Ted Cruz. What I don’t like is all the other baggage Ted carries with him. He’s rather hawkish and it’s hard to know how genuine he is. Teaming up with Glenn Beck doesn’t improve his credibility with me, just the opposite, actually.

He’s a career politician, which is a negative in my view. There are several red flags signaling that he might not be trustworthy. As a Senator, some of his votes seems shaky. Politicians run for cover on close votes or switch up when it looks like a given vote might hurt them politically. If he had only served In the Senate a bit longer, I’d be able to make a more informed judgment about Ted. For politicians, it’s never what they say that counts. It’s how they vote that really matters.

Yeah, it’s a serious question, you’re just trying to help him like Trump. Why don’t you guys just get a room and have a little Cruz hate orgy and get it over with. Sometimes I swear I must be on a democrat site with the vitriol being spread this primary.

Unfortunately the only way I can see Trump or Cruz getting anything from congress is if the Trump-Democrats cause so much trouble for the rats at town hall meetings.

The more important question is:

Why are the same RINOs continually voted back in congress?

Dont know how Cruz would, but i would get legislation billings
one at a time, and call out the weakest vote link and
have him / her removed from office if they voted against it.

They are not fools. Trump will sweep in with massive numbers of independents and Republicans voting for him. To go against him in Congress is to go against them. To go against them means that whomever goes against Trump will likely be kicked out of office by those voters the next time around.

Remember, the majority of all politicians on all levels ALWAYS TEST THE WIND before they vote. The most important thing in their lives is to be able to live in luxury and benefit from graft and corruption. To ensure that type of life they need to “ go with the wind “ and to go against Trum will endanger their careers of corruption and the good life.

In summation: They won’t rebel against him.
