Ted Cruz Puts Dewhurst on Defensive in Last Debate Before Texas Runoff
Fox News Latino ^ | 7/18/2012 | Roque Planas

Cruz also distinguished himself from Dewhurst with his full-throated support for a border wall estimated by the Department of Homeland Security to cost $7.3 billion, or $6.5 million per mile.

Cruz defended the border wall proposal even if it meant expropriating private property—a position that the debate’s moderators, WFAA reporter Brad Watson and Gromer Jeffers of the Dallas Morning News, said contrasted with Cruz’s message of fiscal conservatism.

“One of the specific powers and responsibilities of the federal government is to secure the borders,” Cruz said. “Property can be taken with due process of law and just compensation.”

Odd that would come from you. And no, I don’t want to watch an old debate.

But you sit back and enjoy.

Is your caps lock stuck?

Please, up until a week ago Cruz’s whole campaign strategy was riding Trumps coattails yelling “me Too!”. It sad really, cruz and you cruzers have been had. The polls you have been hanging your hats on were manipulated. The proof is in the polls having to get more accurate as they get closer to the election to maintain any credibility. Why do you think Trump jumped to a 10 point lead overnight? Most of us here on FR knew all along that cruz was not ahead in Iowa, and never was. It was just a ploy by the msm media to try and take Trump out. It was cruel really, toying with the cruzers like that and getting their hopes up. But there never was any chance cruz was going to win even a single state, never.

Dewhurst said “a fence is absolutely warranted in certain places,” but argued that extending a wall across the length of the border was futile because “people go around walls and over fences.”

Yep...Ted Cruz time-travelling back to 2012 to “copy” TRUMP (BLESSED IS HIS NAME) “new” 2015 idea to build a wall.

Last time I was down along the border I damn sure didn’t see any wall up there.
You could stand look across the Rio Grande and not be blocked by a wall.
Cruz and a wall...... LOL

Not possible for many to admit their grave error about Trump. They are too invested in being right about this thug. Those who support Trump will deserve every wound they receive as he stabs them in the back again and again.

build the wall on the MEXICAN side of the border. Otherwise you just gave Mexico the Rio Grande.

Nope, Cruz believes in the Constitution which allows eminent domain ONLY after just compensation and ONLY FOR PUBLIC USE (which the border wall is certainly).

TRUMP (PEACE BE UPON HIM) believes in eminent domain to BUILD A PRIVATE PROJECT TO ENRICH PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS (INCLUDING TRUMP) WITHOUT THE NEED FOR “PUBLIC USE”.

True dat. And it’s also true that Ted Cruz has not been president. But don’t let that fact interfere with your thought processes.

The public uses his hotels and casinos. They get jobs and tax dollars too. Trump also paid lots of money for their property, much more than worth. And he will win, election over, so I do not understand all of this “”Cruz did it first”. Voters do not care. but hey, whatever floats your boat. Post away.
