I agree with the point that Cruz spent a lot of time saying how nice and great that Mr Trump is.
It does make one wonder how he can now be the epitome of the establishment to Cruz, but more than that — to me at least — it points out a mistake in Cruz’s strategy.
He waiting too long to attack.
He was busy looking like Trump’s long lost son, his friend from Texas, and Trump used that to pull so far ahead that Cruz couldn’t recover when he finally got around to it.
His first strike against Trump was saying that it’s okay for Trump to have victory taken from him at a brokered convention.
That was too little, and too late.
It’s hard now to say that the guy you used to call “Dutch Uncle Trump” is actually the “Zombie of Establishment Street”.
Maybe a zombie ate the Uncle’s brain on the way to an insurmountable lead. I’ll have to ask General Cruz.
He got addicted to the ease of running when Trump was beating the crap out of the GOPe candidates, the media, and the democrats. Pushing issues that lesser candidates dare not touch, and changing the direction of the debate.
Cruz’s people stated that the gist of the plan was for Trump to run wild, and then “implode” sometime around December 1st, where Cruz, as the last man standing, would waltz into the nomination with no scratches, and lots of cash.
Then a funny thing happened: Trump got more popular! By then it was too late to turn it around.
