His wife worked. Millions of people do business with Goldman Sachs. That should not be an automatic disqualifier. They did not get special treatment. DT deals with big Wall Street firms as well. No big deal.

Unfortunately, you only have it half right. Like millions of people, Cruz invested with Goldman Sachs. When he needed money, he borrowed from his own investment with Goldman Sachs.
Perhaps you would have preferred that he invest with and borrow from another large banking institution that hasn’t paid enormous fines or been under investigation? The only problem is, there aren’t any. Go ahead, look at the Top 10 or 20 biggest banks in the country, then do a search for “investigation”, “indictment”, and “fine”. You’ll see what I mean.
