Politics ain't beanbag.
This makes me happy. I’m still a Cruz girl and am usually quiet around here. I’m absolutely stunned by the ugly exchanges between Cruz/Trump supporters. I’m just going to sit back and watch it unfold and when the real fight begins, against Democrats, I’ll get vocal. Why tear down a potential candidate before a decision has been made? Why do we do this to ourselves? I see pros and cons to several of those running at the moment that I could see myself voting for.
I wish those on FR could hold their tongues a bit longer and vote when it’s time and move from there. The ugly is a real turn-off. It looks like a bunch of children throwing temper tantrums. My kids are better behaved than some posters on FR right now. It’s embarrassing.
Why? Earlier IA poll today showed Trump ahead by 1. Both are within MOE. That means in the last eight IA polls, Cruz is 2-7-1, and three of those are 1-2 points difference. Iâd say old mo is with the Donald.
Polling didn’t really account for Terry Branstad saying he hoped Ted lost and urging Iowa voters not vote for Ted.
Also, the big news of Palin for Trump isn’t fully factored in this poll.
Lets wait for next Tuesday’s polls to see how it all plays out. This is all status quo and inside the MOE.
One thing more Trump is now first putting up campaign commercials in IOWA. I don’t think it looks good for Ted.
Trump is the one with the momentum.
This poll must be the reason for Trump’s childish Twitter rampage this morning!
This guy (Trump) is showing some serious signs of mental instability!
If the Iowa caucus folks vote for Ted Cruz over Donald Trump....they will destroy their “first-in-the nation” Impact, and probably be written off as a serious indicator of political trends!!! Ted Cruz cannot...under no circumstances bring in anywhere near enough votes to win a national POTUS General election against any Democrat!!! Iowa caucus voters,....be careful how you cast your vote...a vote for Ted Cruz is a wasted vote!!! We are playing for high stakes here....like, the future of our nation!!!
“GO DONALD TRUMP!!!”
I am waiting for the Anne Seltzer poll. She is that one who found the underground surge for Santorum that everyone missed in ‘12, against the Iowa frontrunner.
Now Cruz has held the edge. but will TRUMP pull off the underground surge this year.
It is a bet worth making.
What a bizarre poll. Conducted by Monmouth College and Douglas Fulmer Associates. Monmouth, which I gather is the one in Illinois not NJ, since that would be Monmouth U. The questions are heavily focused on vehicles and transportation and voting demos are broken out by what type of cars voters drive. I guess maybe ethanol related? Douglas Fulmer and Associates appears to be a Democratic hack polling firm of not much reputation. Check out their list of clients.

So was President Santorum’s. LOL!
When does the Anne Seltzer poll come out?
I think IOWA is always hard to figure out.
If Branstad doesn’t want Ted he should endorse the only other candidate who can beat him.
Hey, Branstad, stop being cute, if you mean what you say put your organization behind Trump, or you might be handing the win to your worst nightmare Ted Cruz.
So, you think it is a wasted vote to cast your vote to try and save the soul of our party from a vapid populism that has no moral underpinnings and would represent the collapse of the entire conservative movement.
Why is it everybody always forgets to include Ted Nugent in this particular meme...

Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are locked in a tight battle for the lead in Iowa, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released today.
Just three weeks from the crucial, first-in-the-nation contest, real estate mogul Donald Trump earns 31 percent support in the poll. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has 29 percent support — within the poll’s margin of error. Third place belongs to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio with 15 percent. Ben Carson has tumbled from his previous lead down to only 7 percent. These numbers are similar to the Quinnipiac poll results released in mid-December.
Thank you for saying this. I am in complete agreement and have been thinking similar things for some time. In the end we will all enter the voting booth and vote for the candidate that we believe will govern the country best. The ugly exchanges you mention are no more than the “my lunch ( political candidate) is better than yours” whining you might find at a kindergarten lunch table. Bravo, and thanks for the post. It needed to be said.
Do the majority of Iowans care about ethanol? Isn’t this essentially ADM and Monsanto, etc? How much of Iowa’s economy is dependent on this subsidy?
The Quinnipiac poll was taken the 5th through the 10th. So, it represents the state of the race one week ago. The KBUR poll was taken the 18th through the 19th and represents the state of the race now.
Actually, Conservative Treehouse has shown the internals of several Iowa polls, and they oversample Evangelicals. So what you see here does reflect them, and then some.
It came out this morning on ABC, tell them not me!!!
You just don’t get it....we need a POTUS win...not saving the Republican Party or the conservative movement!!! Our country is coming apart and no GOP (e) candidate or a limited vote getting, candidate like Ted Cruz is going to save anything...because neither are massive vote getters, and neither can bring a POTUS victory in Novmber, 2016!!! For goodness sake...get real and truthful with yourself!!!
Republican, Conservatives....we must win the POTUS slot this coming November, 2016.....GO DONALD TRUMP!!!
If you follow the link to real clear politics you will see that the Quinnipiac poll was actually taken the 5th through the 10th. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/ia/iowa_republican_presidential_caucus-3194.html
I agree. Currently Cruz is doing a better job head to head vs Hillary than Trump is.
