Demjanjuk was a different case. He was a Red Army soldier, captured by the Nazis, who had a choice of either serving as a guard, or being killed by the Nazis.
This guy voluntarily joined the SS, knowing full well what their job was.
But, most importantly, he WAS NOT the man he was accused and convicted of being. That is not my conclusion and I knew Brian Gildea of New Haven, CT, who was his American lawyer in American venues. It was the conclusion of the Israeli Supreme Court on review of his Israeli conviction.
