For those who were disappointed that the hookers and drug dealers were chased out of Times Square in the late 1990s by Giuliani’s zero tolerance policy for crimes like this, they should be back very soon.
No one missed the homeless or the Ratso Rizzo types in Times Square. What we hate is the Disneyfication of that area with bad chain restaurants and awful touristy stores selling Disneyware and overpriced candy. And turning Broadway into a pedestrian mall. Cabs can’t get through, increasing traffic, and people who live in the city can barely walk through the crowds of midwesterners who seem to think that’s the only place to hang out.
More like alienating the scumbags doing the crime.
I will NEVER set foot in NYC again, regardless of who runs it or how but everyone knows exactly what this policy is going to bring - Dinkins Town.
people act more civilized when you require them to....
if peeing in public is winked at, defecating in public isn't far behind.....
who wants to be around slobs that do that?
