What is that bug, and why doesn’t it go away? I see it nowhere in the universe but on FR.

It is a variable setting within the apache web sever, and/or with the perl script headers. Basically it tells your browser to interpret it one way, when in fact it’s served to you another way. A good software guy would have fixed it two months ago when it first cropped up due to upgrade or whatever they did. It’s actually a security risk for freerepublic, because it means they have a sloppy server that is vulnerable to script injections and other threats.

It seems to me that it should not be too difficult to parse out those offending characters..... it must be a more complicated bug than it seems at first glance otherwise John would have stomped this bug quickly.
