Listen: Levin Explains Trump's Crony-Capitalist Iowa Ethanol Pander
Conservative Review ^ | 1/20/16 | CR Wire

Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin explained why Donald Trump, the supposed anti-establishment candidate, is siding with the establishment on the ethanol mandate. It has everything to do with trying to pander for votes.

Levin explained what crony capitalism is. That it is the state picking winners at the expense of others. In the case of ethanol they have made it mandatory in cars, even though it is proven that it does not reduce oil usage, because oil is needed for the production of ethanol. That it hurts engines.

The most damaging thing that ethanol does, according to Levin is add to famine and poverty in the third world, by limiting the production of food crops, as the land is used to grow ethanol feedstock instead of food.

Levin focused on the fact that Donald Trump is going all in for ethanol to pander to Governor Terry Branstad in Iowa. He told his audience that Branstad's son makes a living from the ethanol industry.

ANYONE who supports ethanol in this environment of low crude prices is artificially raising the price of gasoline Americans pay.

Disqualified to be a conservative, PERIOD.

Trump’s done many millions of dollars of business with Goldman Sachs including owning a lot of their stock. Cruz is a piker in comparison.

Ya the guy that won’t do the little things right will surely do the big things right...

That’s a great theory...

And I repeat. The guy who won’t do the little things right is expected to do the big things right.

That’s your position...

I don’t get exercised over ethanol subsidies, at all. Ethanol is not a burning issue with me. Immigration is. Immigration will destroy the nation long before ethanol subsidies will, among other more pressing issues, such as TPA, TPP, and the Corker bill.

Good point. The powers that be have mandated it's production and availability, but I still am not required to purchase it.

As long as you don't drive a car or motorcycle, you don't have to buy it. But you cannot find any gas that doesn't have some ethanol in it, and the mandate will insure that the percentage will go higher and higher.

Just because you repeat a lie over and over won’t magically make it true. But it does say a lot about you.

I don’t have to read that to know the truth about TPA. Whichever president used anything like it before never had ANYTHING that followed it like TPP that the present TPA will enable. The TRUTH about TPP is that is will END the sovereignty of the United States. Why do you think it has been kept top secret?

Cruz didn't report a million in loans, that is against the Law.

You are either ignorant or a deceitful. I'll be generous and assume ignorant, so let me educate you.

That "million in loans" was a margin loan he took out against his own assets and gave to his own campaign. Ted reported the funds going into the campaign to the FEC as required. However, since the loan was made to Ted and Heidi, not to the campaign, and since Ted and Heidi were paying back the loan, not the campaign, Ted did not realize that he had to report that the funds came from a personal loan. He DID report the loans to the Senate as required. Ted never hid the details from anyone, and none of the donors to his campaign ever paid a cent to repay the loans.

Liar.

It was reported and that is the only reason you know about it. It just wasn’t reported on all the forms. Had it not been reported on other forms he provided you wouldn’t know about it now. It was reporters going over those forms that discovered the one it was missing from. That’s the simple truth.

And it has been claimed that it may not even be required to report because it was a personal loan not being paid back by the campaign. I’ll wait for that to be settled with that thing called the truth - but not you.

But you just keep spreading lies. Whatever it takes to win...
