Listen: Levin Explains Trump's Crony-Capitalist Iowa Ethanol Pander
Conservative Review ^ | 1/20/16 | CR Wire

Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin explained why Donald Trump, the supposed anti-establishment candidate, is siding with the establishment on the ethanol mandate. It has everything to do with trying to pander for votes.

Levin explained what crony capitalism is. That it is the state picking winners at the expense of others. In the case of ethanol they have made it mandatory in cars, even though it is proven that it does not reduce oil usage, because oil is needed for the production of ethanol. That it hurts engines.

The most damaging thing that ethanol does, according to Levin is add to famine and poverty in the third world, by limiting the production of food crops, as the land is used to grow ethanol feedstock instead of food.

Levin focused on the fact that Donald Trump is going all in for ethanol to pander to Governor Terry Branstad in Iowa. He told his audience that Branstad's son makes a living from the ethanol industry.

The FEC hasn’t ruled whether or not the loans were even required to be reported. They were personal loans, secured with personal assets, not loans made to the campaign. The campaign was not required to pay back the loans.

Last I heard, they were waiting on a ruling from the FEC. At most, an amended filing could be required.

Trump, who has borrowed hundreds of millions from George Soros is acting like the Democrat he is.

Ted might lose Iowa over his principles on ethanol. Is it worth it?

Do you understand the concept of principles? If you give up your principles to "win", then they are not principles in the first place.

“It is strange that you never see cruzers on Cruz threads.”

Because we aren’t cheer leaders preaching to the choir like you? Is that the answer your looking for?

And won’t it be nice to welcome all the millions new Democrat voters back through that beautiful door down at the border?!

Give me a break. Your guy and nutso Beck greet them.

What you fail to include is that Cruz submitted legislation to phase out the mandate over 5 years back in 2014 - well before he started running for president. And he is the ONLY candidate standing firm on ending this crony capitalism.

Funny how is supporters claim it takes a little crony capitalism to stop the really big crony capitalism...

If you can’t do the small things right why does anyone beleave he’ll do the big things right?

Obviously you have not read about Trump’s reputation for stiffing contractors, whom he is known to withhold the final 20% payment from. Of course he never did that with the Mob whom he regularly did business with, but other contractor who were not connected got shafted.

Every building that he built in NYC was built with undocumented Polish workers who worked for less than $5.00 an hour and sometimes didn’t get paid at all. Trump is ruthless.

For the record I support Cruz but if he was so adamant about phasing out these subsidies why wait five years?
**********************************************************************
Out of consideration for the farmers and others involved to make plans and adjustments. It’s a humane thing to do.

Or, less humanely, he could cut it off instantly and not give them ANY time to adjust...kind of like Trump does when he borrows money from folks and then declares bankruptcy and stiffs them for their money.

“It’s not for me, because I know that Iowa ethanol subsidies is about 327th on my list of things I really am concerned about.”

But some of these Cruz posters think it is THE thing that will destroy the nation.
