Yes, you read that right. According to Ted Cruz, the so-called Republican establishment is abandoning Florida senator Marco Rubio and uniting behind real-estate mogul Donald Trump. Cruz has long said the Republican primary would come down to two candidates, one a conservative, the other an establishment moderate.
Now that Cruz and Trump are leading the polls, he's trying his hardest to paint Trump as the latter. "We're seeing something remarkable happening in this Republican primary," the Texas senator told reporters on Wednesday. "Right now, the Washington establishment is abandoning Marco Rubio, theyâve made the assessment that Marco canât win this race, and the Washington establishment is rushing over to support Donald Trump. We're seeing that happen every day, and Mr. Trump is welcoming that support."

Funny thing, on immigration, Trump is far more "right wing" than Cruz is. On nationalism and trade, Trump is more "conservative" than Mr. TPP.
Yes you did. I read your earlier post.
Nobody told you you couldn’t compromise your principles.
Eventually, when Donald J. Trump wins the nomination, the “establishment” will have to support him, unless they are really crazy, like George Will, and go third party. To me it is a sign that they aren’t all brain-dead that they are starting to come around to reality.
It will be interesting to see the addition of Sarah Palin to the Trump ticket will push him above his current plateau of 35%. Especially with Ted Cruz bouncing off resistance at 20%. In five days the Reuters moving average poll will tell the tale.
Everybody and their Momma keeps screaming about how Trump has a liberal past, donated to Democrats, in pictures with the Clintons, etc. But everything he has said has been as a private citizen. His words then had as much of an impact as a statement from the Kardashians.
He was never in Congress, or in any public office, actively working with Democrats, not doing a damn thing about stopping Obama, or stopping the Bush spending spree, or stopping Clinton. He didn't lie to conservatives during the campaign only to flip them off when he was safely re-elected.
This is why conservatives who support Trump DO NOT CARE about his past statements, associates, or the fact that he doesn't have a 100% ACU record. He's a DOER. Trump is a roll-up the sleeves, old-fashioned, point A-point B person. And that's why everybody is starting to get on the bandwagon and support him. That's why Palin has endorsed him.
I guess I’m just not a follower.
Except if we get Cruz, we are going to get a third Bushlike admin with even more hate and vitriol.
This is a strategy, Done on purpose. It will not work because it is being overplayed by too many.
Come on man.
They probably withheld his Apple sauce until Dole made that statement.
Glad Cruz is extreme. We need that kind of politician to take on the left and the establishment
And Ted Cruz’s fantastic skills in manipulating the House of Representatives gave us PAUL RYAN for Speaker! That worked out so well.
Maybe you can answer the question I have been asking for about six months. It gets tedious, even for me.
Why did Cruz vote for TPA, after helping Ryan, that consistent conservative, roll it out and get it established? Why did Cruz vote for the Corker amendment and then proceed to campaign against it?
Both votes advanced the Obama agenda.
My thinking is that Cruz was signaling donors that he can play ball, and I think it paid off for him. I noticed Mark Levin, when I use to listen to him, carefully avoided mentioning these two votes; likewise Rush.
#29 that’s funny!
That means that Cruz is not being truthful ....again. He is their back up guy. They hate him, but he owes the donors.
Stop with that crap already and post like an intelligent supposed conservative, you really need to grow up and stop trolling.

Well, I actually AM an intelligent constitutional conservative who loves the American Republic and its constitution and people. And I have grown up-—I’m grown up enough to not be taken in by DONALD TRUMP’s (PEACE BE UPON HIS WEARY SOUL) “shtick”.
But I haven’t. Not in the least.
Donald Trump goes OFF THE RAILS: Ted Cruz is worse than Hillary when you think about it- [VIDEO]
Trump is a nationalist and that is exactly what America needs right now.
Two things:
There IS such a thing as false opposition, and it’s been done before.
But aside from that, the GOPe may be corrupt, but they’re not stupid. Well, to quote the bible, they may not have a lot of understanding to do good but they’re wise to do evil.
Or I might say, they’re sly like foxes.
If I’m the GOPe, I’m sitting there looking at polls, looking at numbers, looking at crowds, listening to people say he’s going to be the nominee and I’m saying, “Well, other than this wall stuff, which we at least have to give the illusion that we’re for border security ourselves, and other than his mouth, we can at least probably work with the guy.”
If they’re sitting around feeling like it’s inevitable that the people will pick Trump, he may not be the horse they really want. But to them, he’s a lesser evil than Cruz.
And Trump, being a win at all costs kind of guy, doesn’t mind cozying up to them I’m sure. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, after all.
And Ryan is just as bad or worse.
What is Cruz doing about Ryan?
