Backed by Gov. Bruce Rauner, top Illinois Republicans called Wednesday for a state takeover of the financially troubled Chicago Public Schools, which faces a nearly $1 billion budget deficit that could lead to thousands of teacher layoffs and a possible strike in a matter of months.
Senate GOP Leader Christine Radogno called the plan a "lifeline" for CPS, though Democrats quickly shot down the idea.
Radogno and House Republican Leader Jim Durkin said the legislation would give the Illinois State Board of Education control over the nation's third-largest school district. They also noted that GOP lawmakers may reveal a bankruptcy plan for CPS and the city of Chicago in the coming weeks, but didn't offer many details. ...

It might be cheap in the long run if eliminating the teachers union was part of the deal.
That should be fun. The Chicago Teachers Union is only slightly less radical than the North Korean Peoples’ Army.

That's exactly what's happening.
They need 'other peoples' money to cover the laziness and incompetence of practically everyone invoved.
I also believe this same correlation can be found in government agencies and many private companies.
How will we know that the Illinois GOP-E have “taken over” the Chicago gummint skewels???? Will it be the new mandatory courses on easy ways to kill your baby at taxpayers’s expense? “Gay pride curricula?” Rauner and his wife and at least Senate “Leader” Christine Radogno are rampaging social revolutionary pro-aborts. I am not as sure as to Durkin but I am quite skeptical until he is proven pro-life which I do not expect. As with Radogno’s Italian name, Durkin’s Irish name is no guarantee of being pro-life.
