Did you see her explain why she endorsed Trump for president?

Yep. Many of the same goofy rationalizations we’re seeing here on FR.

1. We need a master negotiator

[Being a slick negotiator is great, being principled enough to know what you want out of the deal is even better]

2. Not a politician, so as private sector guy, he knows the “main thing,” and can say “fire”

[So do we want to hire someone for a position for which they have no professional experience? Would this work for an engineering or a medical position?]

3. He will secure the borders

[He says so. So it must be true. We hope. But we don’t know.]

4. He’s exposed how the establishment collaborates with the leftists

[But this has been exposed over and over again by many who have come before him. It’s not unique to him. We’ve been wising up for a while now.]

5. The establishment hates him

[Apparently, the establishment now thinks they can control him. They hate Cruz worse because they already tried to control him and failed.]

6. The “conservative establishment” folks think Trump is not a pure enough conservative (yes, that’s really in there)

[This one is just bizarre. There are some “professional” conservatives complaining about his lack of true blue conservatism. But so are a lot of us non-professional, anti-establishment, life long conservatives. It’s horribly misleading to lump us in with George Will and company.]

7. He’s got the guts to talk about the important issues

[He’s talked about the same issues the Tea Party and many other conservatives have been talking about for years. Al Gore didn’t invent the internet and Trump didn’t discover the illegal immigration problem. He just figured out, like Al Gore, how to claim ownership of it.]

8. He’s “new and independent”

[Even though he’s been hanging out with all the worst political hacks for decades. But I’m sure he’s not at all under the influence of George Soros, even though Mr Soros helped him get his Trump Tower brand into Chicago. No, nothing to see there. Independent. Rah. Rah. Rah.]

9. He will bring pro-constitution, common sense solutions to the table

[He will trample both the Constitution and common sense when it suits his purposes to do so. Kelo.]

10. He’s not an elitist, loves the little guy, wants us to succeed

[If I invited Hillary to one of my family events, would she come? No? Maybe saying he’s not elite is just a little hard to swallow]

11. He’s an optimist who knows how to build big things

[So hire him to build big things. But don’t entrust him with the care and protection of the Constitution. That’s bigger than anything he’s ever built, and he isn’t up to the job]

12. He’s generous

[Depends on who you talk to. I’m sure he’s done good things with his money. But some of his creditors may have a different perspective]

13. He has faith in God

[Indeed, doing so well there he needs no forgiveness. I don’t trust people who see themselves as perfect. Only Jesus can claim that accomplishment, and He had to be God to do it.]

14. Prolife

[Except he’s just fine with his pro-abort sister becoming a Supreme Court justice. Nothing abut this man scares me more, and I mean nothing, than his poor grasp of the life issue. He will ruin the Court for two generations, given the chance. I pray to God he does not get that chance.]

15. Pro second amendment

[He seems to be mostly OK on this issue. Except in 2000 he didn’t grasp the “assault weapons ban” problem]

19. He’ll fix the way we treat veterans

[I’ll give him this too]

20. He supports tax reform

[But not radical tax reform. Just tweaking at the edges. The IRS under him will be the same as it was under Obama. That’s a problem]

Sarah’s speech: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/transcript-palin-endorses-trump-no-pussy-footin-article-1.2502732

So no, overall, too much on the negative side of the ledger. Not buying it.

Peace,

SR
