I’m very disappointed with Trump’s naked pandering to Iowa corn farmers by endorsing the ethanol mandate.... and I’m a Trump fanboi.

Then you gotta get your mind right and admit you were wrong about the mandate. More ethanol for a Great America!! Food must burn!

But, say! What about smartly dressed pandering?

;-) Be patient. He has nothing better to offer them as a replacement, yet.

I'm disappointed with Trump over that, too, but I realize that Trump is a realist. No matter what the President says, Congress will never end that mandate because it's horse trading fodder for too many other deals.

If Trump can do as well as I think he can at shaking up Congress, he'll get around to shedding that mandate along with a lot of others. If not, it'll use it as a means to keep Congress critters in line by putting roadblocks in its way when they want to horse trade on something he wants.

I notice Ted came out for "phasing out" that mandate just like I figured he would, not exactly the brave stand he started out with. Of course, he made sure his being "against" that mandate got a lot more press than his saying it should be phased out, typical.

Palin knows the difference between someone who can get things done and someone is a a, "My way or the highway", bag of hot air that gives good speech and never gets anything done. She probably thought there was a chance Ted would get things done when she helped him in Texas.

Now that Cruz is running for President before finishing his first term in the Senate with nothing to show for his time in the Senate, her opinion has obviously changed.

I’m with you Laz. But the bottom line is, whatever Trump’s position on ethanol, we still have a choice between Trump and Cruz, and all the other candidates. Dissapointed? Yes. Am I going to cut my nose off to spite my face because of it? No.

We have existential threats facing us as a nation, this election cycle, and at the top of the list is immigration. I feel we have an opportunity with Trump to finally deal with this issue once and for all, not just kick the can down the road like all the other candidates would do. Trump’s plan will largely solve a problem that politicians have deliberately refused to solve for years so they could use it to their benefit. Ethanol mandates? I don’t like ‘em, and down the line they need to be eliminated. But at the moment, it’s small enough price to pay to have some critical issues finally addressed, IMO. Take care.
