Bottom line, “The Gods only help those who help themselves”. Victory is in the hands of the people, religious doctrine doesn’t carry the swords on the battle field. In the nuclear age, carrying Icons into battle doesn’t guarantee a victory as it may have had a 1000 years ago. The battle we face, is the western idea of decency vs, a Mid eastern idea of open lust and even more lust after death.
