The truth is you don't have to go way back to find that Trump always has been, and remains to this day, a typical New York City liberal. This explains why Trump so often engages in liberal tactics like victim blaming, blame-shifting, demagoguery, dishonesty, etc. And he does so usually through the exact same liberal media other liberals use. But don't just take my word for it.
Here's Trump in his own words:
If you think using Trump's 1999 interview where he admits his liberalism is unfair because it's too long ago, how about when Trump joined Bernie Sanders in advocating for a taxpayer-funded, single-payer healthcare system in 2015?
Maybe the part where he advocated getting rid of borders and competition to create a global economy.
OH thank you, thank you people for the ‘unhinged’ remarks you have just made....those people reading these posts are turning to other candidates, Trump included...with open arms welcoming those that WERE going to vote for CRUZ but now after your remarks, are not going to...
Thank you, as all the other candidates need new supporters and Cruz’s supporters have just sent them a bundle!!!
Only 20% of Hispanic are Republicans.
I have studied it and at that site. Trump flip-flops on every issue so much, an objective person doesn’t know what he believes.
Gun Control: “I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun.” and “The Republicans walk the NRA line and refuse even limited restrictions.”
Immigration: (aka Trump’s amnesty): “I would get people out and then have an EXPIDITED way of getting them back into the country so they can be legal. A lot of these people are helping us and sometimes it’s jobs a citizen of the United States doesn’t want to do. I want to move ‘em out, and we’re going to move ‘em back in and let them be legal.’ Yep, cut in line in front of people who obey our laws.
Healthcare: “We must have universal healthcare.”
Try again Trump supporter.
More amnesty:
Trump: “You have to give them a path. You have 20 million, 30 million, nobody knows what it is. It used to be 11 million. Now, today I hear itâs 11, but I donât think itâs 11. I actually heard you probably have 30 million. You have to give them a path, and you have to make it possible for them to succeed. You have to do that.”
Abortion
“Iâm totally pro-choice. I hate it and I hate saying it. And Iâm almost ashamed to say that Iâm pro-choice but I am pro-choice because I think we have no choice.”
You appear to think Cruz is controlling Trump's actions, like Trump's a puppet.
That's an interesting take, but I doubt it.
OK we can agree to disagree. I think what he means by Universal Healthcare is not what you think, Government run Healthcare. People can interpret the same info differently depending on what they bring to the table. I basically provide info I think is pertinent, no hard sell here.
On the immigration issue its not really cut & dried issue.
I think its a reasonable plan to secure the border, deport the criminals first, by following our laws some will self deport, the remainder should be encouraged to report by providing the possibility of a work permit if its in America’s interest. That decreases the number we will need to hunt down.
Trump has stated consistently that he is not intending to offer citizenship to these illegal immigrants so they are not going in front of legal immigrants in this sense. It might be satisfying to deport them all and say good ridance but many of these people are woven into our society and we would be cutting our noses to spite our faces. I would agree with Trump that we need to get them out and then see how it goes with the possibility of work permits.
I have never seen a Trump quote like that. That is the Goldman Sachs position.
Which 20% and have we given them a reason to be? My point is that if Trump does grow the economy the Hispanic community will have many more opportunities and they will want to protect those opportunities.
I’m just pointing out we cannot trust Trump to be conservative. He has been liberal, funded far-left liberals, praised liberals, and appears to flip-flop to be whatever the audience of the day wants to hear. (recall last wee his Scott Brown as VP comment?) I really fear him appointing liberal New Yorkers to SCOTUS vacancies. If we don’t have a known solid conservative we don’t have a prayer of stopping the SCOTUS liberalism legislation from the bench. I don’t trust trump to replace 2-3 SCOTUS.
Read the article that he wrote.
“My concern is that the negligence of a few will adversely affect the majority. I’ve long been a believer in the “look at the solution, not the problem” theory. In this case, the solution is clear. We will have to leave borders behind and go for global unity when it comes to financial stability.”
Read the whole think. There’s nothing in there that a serious anti-globalist/anti-central planner would like.
Thank you gwgn02 so much for this current documentation of the true Trump liberal who would now wrap himself in a conservative mantel.
I will be sharing this with many others.
As I read the various responses from Trump supporters(?), I have yet to see a constructive rebuttal of anything gwgn02 has said here.
Rather, I read a lot of vulgar language that attacks gwgn02, and all other Cruz supporters.
You seem to quite comfortable with the behavior Deace has described so well (quote):
The truth is you do not have to go way back to find that Trump always has been, and remains to this day, a typical New York City liberal. This explains why Trump so often engages in liberal tactics like victim blaming, blame-shifting, demagoguery, dishonesty, etc. And he does so usually through the exact same liberal media other liberals use.
If you have a constructive rebuttal (documented with links, not just claims), I am all ears.
Otherwise, you are doing your cause no good.
No, I read it. I know that Trump cannot be trusted. trump has changed parties several times, donated to far-left democrats, praises DeBlasio and Hillary, flip-flops on issue after issue. He even praised Cruz a couple months ago and now back-stabs him. I don’t trust that con artist.
Thank you, I had looked at that article. http://edition.cnn.com/2013/01/22/business/opinion-donald-trump-europe/
I think he’s right in what he says and I think you must look to other things he has said to have it in context and know what he actually means.
We do live in a global economy, there is no denying it and an individual business person can seize opportunities on a global scale. However Trump’s big push is that we need treaties and deals so the global economy works in America’s interest. He has very concrete plans for tariffs, to prevent China from taking advantage by currency manipulation, plans for bring jobs to America by creating conditions for companies to flourish here.
Trump’s is a very different plan than the One World Order Folks at Goldman Sachs. They want to control the world’s economy and redistribute wealth, batten down the world so no one can innovate and find ways around their control. They are the EU on steroids.
Trump’s plan is to make the global economy work for America and to use America’s muscle to secure the best deal. I believe this is a key issue for America if we want to reverse our slide. Trump’s experience, determination and position on this issue is one of the reason’s I am enthusiastic as a candidate. I am scared stiff of the Globalists, UN, Eu that way lies a totalitarian state, Trump champion’s free enterprise and National interest.

We will have to disagree. That list doesn’t sway me.
Trump has changed parties but has been a Republican for many more years and his viewpoints are conservative on many issues throughout. He was a businessman not a politican and donated to both sides as a business matter, as an aside he gave almost $1 million to elect Bush and has donated solely to Republicans since 2010 at least on the National level where such donations are reported. He said good things about Cruz its true, I think the citizenship issue has spiraled out of control and both sides have said some things better left unsaid.
I trust Trump to put America first and to have the experience and ability to win for America. I find him a very forthright individual. I do believe he is the only candidate we have on offer that can win the Presidency this time around. I don’t walk down every path in agreement with Trump but several main ones that are enough to be going on with. Thank you for the opportunity to exchange views in a cordial manner.
It isn’t the poster’s fault that Trump is the most liberal of the Republican contenders or that so many people have mistaken arrogance and megalomania for strength.
Yet you Trumpettes will squeal all day about how you’re offended by the slightest inference of fault toward your Beloved.
That is what happens in a free market. Take away the propping of the government for sin and generally speaking, the righteous will prosper and the wicked will not. It is the IRS that transfers wealth form the industrious to the lazy ie the righteous to the wicked.
