I suggest, my dear woman, that you move your time line up to the period from 1946 through about 1960. Most scholars of the period, the non communist ones anyway, recognized what the Crucible was.

Speaking of the Lollard Bible I had a buy on a 90% complete one a few years ago. I lost it when I was out bid, a price I could not match, while it was being authenticated.

What really pissed me off, it was 90% complete, is that it was probably sold as pages.

This is ridiculous. You can’t read. Miller himself said it was not only a story of hysteria in Salem it was about the supposed hysteria during the McCarthy era. When did I deny that? I didn’t. I said the play can be read simply as a story of Salem. Which is why it is still produced. If it was simple 50s agit-prop, it would be gathering dust on the shelves of Samuel French.

And knock off the dear woman stuff. I’m a theater professional and I know what I’m talking about.
