I just got today's Hotline from National Journal. It is behind a pay wall, but it is worth noting their top story confirms what I have been seeing and hearing. Josh Kraushaar writes,
It's the $64,000 question for establishment-minded Republicans: Would they rather see Ted Cruz or Donald Trump win the Iowa caucuses, assuming none of the more moderate candidates prevail? The Establishment thinking is that if Trump beats Cruz in Iowa, they can then beat Trump with Rubio, Bush, or Christie. In an informal survey of senior GOP strategists, the clear winner was Trump. Their arguments were reasoned but underscored: a) how they're still underestimating Trump; and b) how much they personally hate Cruz to the point where emotion is trumping strategy.

Next time put something in square brackets [] that gives the gist of the article. The headline from CNN is pretty bland.
Thanks for the info!
I can't wait to see two sleazeballs slugging it out for the presidency.
What will be different than the last few times?
Cruz is hated by the beltway establishment, while they still view Trump as a reality show. They just hate Trump less than they hate Cruz.
WARNING - if ya got The Tee Dee Ess, DON'T click on the pic. Yer head might explode. That is all.
Opposition to Trump by self anointed conservatives is predicated on the belief that Trump is a liar and a fraud. I have spent about a dozen hours listening to his ramblings. If he is a liar he is more accomplished than Obama x Clinton.
Trump has built one of the most successful careers in business by being a man of his word. If all that he has said is a lie and he acts against the belief he has instilled in his voters he will be impeached. The anger that has brought him this far will turn on a dime if he proves false.

That will happen after it is too late to make a difference. The GOPe may not like Trump, but they hate Ted Cruz. What else does a conservative need to know? Trump will be as big a disappointment to conservatives as Paul Ryan.
I sense that a lot of Conservatives have done a 180 on the issue of campaign finance reform in the past few years.
After watching the Chamber of Commerce buy-off everybody we’ve been sending to Washington, a lot of us are now siding with OWS on the issue.
You said..
“I can’t wait to see two sleazeballs slugging it out for the presidency.”
Hillary and Donald.
Heads you lose, tails you lose
It’s not an interview. It’s an article written for people interested in Davos which are businesspeople whose purpose is controlling world policy. You’re right; he’s very careful and clear. It’s more unambiguous than I’ve ever seen Trump. It has every globalist watchword you can think of.
Your hostility is not sufficient grounds to delete Trump.
Iâm convinced Trump has done his deal with the GOPE. They will have a love fest between now and November.
I’ve caught that too...Cruz is under assault from all side right now
The GOPe apparently has not been listening to the snake poem. “Take me in oh tender woman”. They are in for a big surprise when Trump takes office and starts cleaning house. LOL!
Do some of the tin-foil hat crowd now ruining things for Cruz even know that Newt Gingrich blames like tin-foilers in no small part for his loss in Florida (2012 campaign)? That’s a fact. Don’t believe me, then go ask Sheldon Adelson.
Newt called it the “moon base” element that took the grass-roots enthusiasm that blossomed in December and led to his victory in South Carolina, but after the “moon element” as they were described by his supporters got their tin-foil hats on and and projected their minority bizarre attempts at “help” via the internet and off-track pronunciations, his campaign was damaged by them and to this day Gingrich blames them for messing up his of the Six Sigma business management model message with lunatic stuff that underminded his image to voters.
I can guarantee, Cruz wants the tin-foilers to take some time fishing, he doesn’t really want their “help”.
Right now Trump is hitting a homerun at Liberty University live, he is literally hitting it out of the park there. Why doesn’t the tinfoilers who think they are “helping” Cruz go over there and start handing out fliers with some of their “Trump is working for Hillary and both should be banned in the UK” idiocy, Cruz will really appreciate it... Not.
You better hope that the Democrats haven't really opened up on Trump because they are keeping their power dry. Once Trump is the nominee, I suspect that the Democrats will open fire and that Trump will be found to be a target-rich environment.
Courts will settle it using the 14th amendment.
If so, it is not because they like Trump, it is because they fear the man
who looks to win the nomination.
This is a hilarious thread. One day the GOPe wants to take Cruz out and support Trump. The next day there is a story out that wants to take Trump out and support Cruz.
I just say look at the speech Nikki Haley gave it you want to know who the GOPe wants to take out. They are building a fire wall in South Carolina against Trump.
The Red State site is becoming a joke.
Your anger has ‘the feel’ of a liberal ... it’s offensive.
