Gasbuddy.com says several stations in Houghton Lake, Michigan have lowered their prices under $1 per gallon, in what appears to be a price war.
According to GasBuddy it appears these stations are currently the first stations in the country to see prices under $1 per gallon in years. As the situation unfolds, it's possible these stations re-raise prices back over $1/gallon.
78 cents per gallon was recorded at Beacon & Bridge Market while 95 cents per gallon was recorded at the Marathon in Houghton Lake. Prices were verified by GasBuddy after a review of photographs uploaded to GasBuddy's app.

That’s it. I’m driving to Michigan to fill up my truck. It’s only about 200 miles away.

Not supporting the American oil industry at those prices that is for sure... Quite the contrary, they are selling it at a loss and the lower prices will have people using more gas. The only way to support the oil industry is increase consumption. Go for a Sunday drive for no reason other than to have a car ride. I remember my Grandpa doing that all the time.

A V8 Dodge Challenger is looking good right now. I'll have to run the tires off my Heritage to use any serious gas.

It’s a good time to buy Oil futures (Long term). I imagine the correction will smart. But in the mean time, this is putting about $325 a month in my pocket each month measured against $3.50/gallon gas. That’s almost $4,000/year.
It’s like a great tax break. Thank you Mr. President. Your the greatest! ( <—— = That there is Sarcasm)

For the majors maybe but smaller independent companies drilling in the U.S. shale patch are not going to be able to hold out much longer. I doubt this “rebound” will last, though, with the Saudis bankrupting themselves as much as their Iranian and US competition.
